So I went for alignment, this is the first result:

e7444446490fdfd781117db628c39cdc.jpg

So I was happy rather in a weird way cause my car was going to feel better and actually go straight, the wheel went bent if I left it, was real annoying, guess what it was even worse after, the guy probably didn't put the steering in the middle, so I went back to complain and low behold, they did it gain for free, the result a0a64416fb43dfb494750242951d1fc2.jpg

The steering wheel still goes a little to the left on bumps, very slightly, but my concern is the red box at the bottom, the guy assured me it was very minorly off and it would get better on a full tank of fuel (I call bs on this)

Shall I go back and demand they put it to spec or is it very minorly off, to be honest I hate the place and the staff, and I'd rather not go back, just someone tell me how bad that offcamber will be.

Thanks in advanced

Do you have camber bolts in there rear? Been lowered? 2° of negative camber is a hell of a lot for a rear wheel. You'll certainly notice increased shoulder wear.

I had the same issue when getting alignment done. Steer wheel sits slightly left and after a return visit and nearly 4 hours there they decided to blame my tyres for pushing it out. Had the right ar$3hol3 by then so had to live with it.

I'm not sure about my suspension system, but I'm pretty positive it's stock, they seem clueless, can't believe it...

You've only got 0.2° camber on the fronts. Might be that someone has put your camber bolts in the rear wheel. Failing that grab four and try again.

Oil service and oil pressure switch fault investigation. I've really struggled to find a replacement switch for the depo gauge. Does anyone know where best to find a new one? I've contacted Deporacing.eu but no reply yet.

Far to honest for that [emoji23] Service seems to have sorted the questionable pressure. I did take out the switch and clean it so may have been that too.

Gave the scooby a rinse and give it another coat of Harley wax .

Well chuffed with kinugawa service [emoji106]

They set up a eBay listing of the springs I wanted to give me a £34 saving compared to buying them separately .

Within a hour of buying them ,ebay updated the springs as posted .

Booked in for a power run on 10th to check the fueling as I think it's running rich. Told the missus it's in for an Afr check as power run comes across as something far too fun 😈

Got my hands on a genuine Subaru centre armrest extension. Designed for an Impreza - hence the different interior colour - though fits the WRX STi...

Taking it to a car upholsterer this coming week to get it recovered in leather with red stitching to match the interior. Further pics to follow when fitted :)

Unexpected progress :)

Tried a local auto upholsterer but he's busy until next year. Then went to another local guy who does auto/furniture but couldn't match the STi's leather exactly so would have to go to a leather supplier to see if I have any luck there.

Anyway, a closer look at the armrests seemed to indicated very similar sizes which got me thinking...

Out with a philipps screwdriver and a little dismantling showed that the rests are indeed, very similar in size. The obvious difference being the recess for the catch release on the Imprezza part.

I then decided to see if the STi leather would come off of the moudling and to my surprise, it did very easily. The vinyl on the Imprezza part was a little harder, but came off nevertheless.

I then tried fitting the STi leather over the Imprezza moulding and it justy about fits. Will need a little stretch at the sides, but nothing major. This now makes it a DIY job
So, what I have is...

20161204_182945_zpsemawns65.jpg

A: STi armrest moulding with leather removed, but foam padding stiil in situ as this has been glued to the plastic.
B: The Imprezza lower part/mechanism.
C: Vinyl cover from Imprezza armrest.
D: STi leather fitted losely over the Imprezza armrest moulding.

Below is the Imprezza vinyl cover with latch insert. No padding under the vinyl - it's glued directly to the plastic but pulls off easily enough...

The STi leather covering the Imprezza moulded armrest part. As I said above, needs slight stretching on each side (couple of mm) and the leather needs to be cut for the latch part...

The STi arm rest has some foam padding which is glued directly to the plastic. This won't come off without breaking apart, so need a small piece of foam for the new set up...

So, hopefully, all I need to get tomorrow is some suitable leather glue, a piece of foam and should be able to complete the job myself. And save a few $ in the process by keeping it DIY :D

Nice result that - little bit of patience and saved some $$$

A piece of cushion foam from a craft shop is glued in place on the top part of the Imprezza rest...
20161205_102538_zpsabpz5b4x.jpg

The leather trim is then stretched over the top and glued on the inside only, pegs clamping the leather in place while the glue dries...
20161205_104928_zpsqjhucpg4.jpg

A cut out is made for the latch mechanism and the plastic trim simply snaps in, holdiong the leather firmly in place...
20161205_114130_zpsl1d3wubm.jpg

I used some spray adhesive initially but despite a long drying time, the edges are lifting in places so will need to use a stronger glue...

Apart from that, all is going to plan
