  1. What boost controller is it ? And no just turn it down to 0.5 bar , bud If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  2. I think he rebuilt it himself [emoji6] I've got nowhere near the experience as s.c but personally I wouldn't think that the first time a freshly built engine hits over 3k should be on full boost while being mapped for the first time . If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  3. Arrrgh Don't look like my zorst is arriving on time still Why give me a eta if it's not on time ffs [emoji35] [emoji36] # stagnant build thread [emoji53] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  4. Imo you need to rev the engine to more than 3k off boost and then (once you've run it in off boost at higher revs) use 0.5 under 4.5k to bed the rings in to stop glazing of the bores . But as I said before, I've only ever used this method for 2 turbocharged engines , so it's just a opinion [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. Should be ok , just follow the gradual off boost rev limit increases and then use actuated boost low down in the Rev range. If you cant manually turn the boost down (via apexi ecu or a controller) You get actuated boost by buy passing the boost control system . run a vac line from turbo outlet to actuator and plug any vac lines /ports you disconnected. This should give you a max 0.5 bar boost limit so you don't have full boost untill the engines run in with proppa oil [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. Have you fitted a air intake temp sensor? As it gives another parameter to take some of the guess work out of the fuelling map [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  7. I think they look better than the skull tail pipes ๐Ÿ˜‚ If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  8. Yeah the v3/v4 sti's/type r's had more hp than the 280hp stated by subaru . A mate had just a cat back and panel filter on his unmapped v3 sti ..... It made 308 hp on the dyno probably due to the agressive cams in the v3/v4 heads If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. Definitely but at least that site I linked has proven 1/4 mile times . There's not much between the standard classic sti and wrx times in real life. If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. Yeah I've had a squint on there stants [emoji6] I subscribed to the battlefield you tube channel and this vid popped up yesterday so I just linked this 1 (cos I'm lazy lol ) . The only thing that I don't like about the ps4 is that not many of my mates made the switch when I did [emoji57] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  11. Opps I know it's a bit late now but you should mark the position of both the tps and icv before removal. I guess you can't see marks where the bolts used to be ? Did you undo the 2 little screws on top of the icv ? Did you refit the gauze / vacumm pressure disc behind the icv and refit it with a new gasket ? As a vacuum leak from the inlet could cause the same symptoms. The tps position will alter fuelling so don't drive on boost until you're sure the position is back to normal. I'm in Suffolk and unfortunately unsure of anyone else in your area but if you didn't undo the top 2 little screws on the icv, it's probably a leak rather than position causing the idle fluctuations. If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  12. Dunno about newage but the v1 sti's were supposed to do a 0 to 60 in 4.7 . http://www.autosnout.com/Car-Performance-Statistics.php?Specs&EditionID=625 If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  13. I'm a big fan of the battlefield series and the next 1 looks sweet , so after not enjoying the last installment of (pogo) cod I'll definitely be getting a copy of this for the ps4 [emoji6] Just had this vid pop up on my news feed . Not got much game play in it but what images there are certainly look quality[emoji41] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  14. As long as she doesn't see my build thread I should be ok [emoji23] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  15. Yeah Chris @cdf seems like a nice genuine chap and is always really busy (so I'm not worried just frustrated ). They make loads of subaru bits in house from scratch and are normally bringing out new improved versions of the older stock . so it's probably older stuff or last few bits before the newer stock comes in . Forgot to say I bought them from cdf direct , so it's also possible that whoever has his bits in the bargain bin might not be buying cdf stuff anymore [emoji6] . Just a shame that the first set of rails seem to have been lost in the post [emoji57] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  16. Ok can people stop posting pics of scooby shiny stuff [emoji53] Cos I've been waiting 2 weeks for my exhaust and nearly 2 months for my cdf billet fuel rails wtf [emoji57] Getting a bit frustrated waiting now and I'm itching to get some man sized boost back in my life[emoji22] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  17. I'm not too hot on sparky stuff tbh but the loom runs under the rad at the front of the car and if it's not "clipped" to the lower valance it can melt on the headers . So maybe check that area of the loom is ok and the earth's are making a good contact? If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  18. If it's a classic did you check both fuse boxes ? , cos it sounds like either a fuse or earth fault If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  19. Yeah I'd be in a world of pain if she new my login details lol If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  20. I used to get a strange irritating whining noise coming from the passenger side front when I hit full boost after I had my first remap . .... but I soon realised that the noise disappeared when the wife wasn't in the car ๐Ÿ˜‚ If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  21. Nice 1 ,Guess you'll be busy at the weekend then [emoji1] Forgot to mention don't panic if it sounds like it's blowing for the first few seconds when you start it up ..... That's because it's slip jointed once the gasses warm it up it will expand and seal [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  22. Where's the dislike button [emoji107] I don't wanna hear this . If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  23. Gambit doesn't have a very good Internet connection but when it's working he said ....... "eyebrowse " If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
  24. Always a silver lining Geoff. .... hmm shiny silicone goodness ๐Ÿ˜Š If it's not broke .....upgrade it ๐Ÿ˜Š
