  1. A member on my local forum is selling his bug sti ,I haven't seen it in the flesh for a couple of years but he does look after it and it's well priced imo http://www.scoobycity.co.uk/forums/forum/classified/for-sale/771402-sti-import-for-sale I think it's a bargain cos it's sub £4k with a 2.1 stroker forged lump mated to the standard jdm 6 speed . if you click the link try not to get mesmerised by the seller's avatar ,gambit especially lol If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  2. They just bolt on my gc8 . If you don't want to have to take the back seat out to adjust the damper I'd buy some "extenders" I've got elbaich camber bolts on the rear of mine allready but if you want to adjust the rear camber I'd get 1 set of those before you get it aligned . I emailed Edwin direct from a link on their cyberspeeds website ,very helpful fella who generally replied within a hour during the day If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  3. The coilovers arrived today [emoji41] on first impressions they do seem very well made but I obviously won't know if they're any good till I've got them fitted If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  4. Hi n welcome Paul I'm sure you'll familiarise yourself with the boxer layout in no time ,fella . And don't forget the pics 😉 If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  5. You might be lucky enough that it's only slipped a few teeth but your right the boxer lump is a "interference" engine. Just thought it's worth a squint before you do a compression test . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  6. It does seem strange how it's stopped running without any symptoms beforehand . Have you had the cam covers off and checked the timing marks? If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  7. Yeah how inconsiderate [emoji57] Just cos they've no kitchen until I've finished plastering it ,they think I shouldn't go home a dribble on my shiny scooby stuff [emoji23] Oh well at least I'll get paid in "4 wheel alignment vouchers " on Friday when it's finished [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  8. Wife just text me saying a big (coilover shaped) box has arrived [emoji41] So I'm currently trying to think of a excuse to go home early but I think my customer wants their kitchen finished [emoji107] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  9. I'm unsure what the ecu uses for it's readings tbh (I'm just a spanner monkey ) When running right These early classics make 260 hp @ 0.7 bar and the standard tdo5 16g they're fitted with will run @1.4 bar . So if the engines in good order and the right supporting mods are in place it should make 300 hp @ the fly fairly easily. So I assuming it's something mechanical holding it back hopefully the stronger spark has sorted it . Always Glad to hear positive feedback about new mapping choices . I use Clive attowe he's not a "scooby specialist " but he's mapped plenty of em in his 25yr + experience. If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  10. Tom for bushes, I'd say oe subaru or Whiteline for the road . power flex black for the track as they're stiffer but that can cause vibration If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  11. Hi n welcome , Lovely fresh looking foz, fella [emoji106]
  12. Dud you disconnect the earth when having the welding done and Have you definitely got a spark ? Cos If you haven't got a spark and you have got fuel , it wouldn't be burning and it would smell rich . A blown injector ring would also give the same sort of symptoms but probably accompanied by a bit of popping and banging as it tries to fire on the other cylinders. If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  13. Loose or sticky brake pad ? Or it could be your "non wrx" causing a severe lack of "sweet looking foz sti "[emoji87] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  14. I might have a working coil pack and ht leads for the v3/v4 in the man cave I'll check when I get home If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  15. As far as I'm aware the 2.5 ltr crank is the same across the range . As I think there's only 1 type of nitraded crank listed when you use them in a 2ltr block (to make a 2.1 stroker). You could give the part numbers a cross check on import car parts website to be certain . in classic 2ltrs it's not the block type that distinguishes it's a sti (they change over the years /versions). It's the cams ,forged pistons /rods and headgaskets that are uprated but this could be different for the 2.5 as I'm not up to spec on newage If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  16. Something with v5/6 heads would be the easiest option (straight swap ) V1 to v4 are interchangeable as the inlet ports / stud pattern are the same (although the inlets look different ) .v5/v6 run a completely different phase 2 inlet manifold /fuel rail type which doesn't work with earlier or later inlets /head ports. I think you can buy phase adapters to make most inlets "mechanically" fit different engines but it can sometimes lead to loom splicing due to having different sensor plugs . So basically it's possible but using a engine with the same v5/v6 phase 2 heads would simplify things [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  17. Na they're still in the bag, cos it seems like far too much hassle to start pulling the back end to bits .especially as it's only done 85k and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it atm If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  18. Tried to remove (stant's) sti throttle peddle to complete the set ....... Cut my hand ,whacked my thumb with a club hammer and probably caught a cold [emoji35] So I gave up and I'm now currently drinking beer indoors and stealthily trying to buy a new header tank without the Mrs spotting me [emoji23] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  19. If its weak spark causing the misfire the newage coil pack conversion will sort it (much stronger spark). i don't know what the going rate is for the conversion as i just bought newage coils and soldered them myself . As for economy they might not have been able to trim the fuel on the dyno properly because of the misfire . Fingers crossed for tomorrow fella[emoji106] Sent from my SM-T230 using Tapatalk
  20. I haven't got anywhere dry to work, so it will be a bit weather permitting [emoji57] Hopefully not next weekend but the weekend after but i do still need to decide what pads to switch the current red stuff for and get some new bleed nipples /dust caps for the brembos There's a few people thinking about coilovers on here so I'll take a few pics and chuck em on my project thread when I do Email what email [emoji48]
  21. Did you disconnect the battery earth or just the positive side? It seems strange that it's happened after welding How do you know it's got fuel and have you done a ecu reset? Might be worth Checking that the big grey plugs at the ends of the engine loom and that the gearbox /inlet manifold earth's are ok . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  22. Check cam and crank sensors haven't been unplugged by accident while disconnecting the battery. Check the fusible link ,it's a bit of wire with a spade connection on either end in the under bonnet fuse box .Although if this has blown it doesn't normally "crank" If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  23. If not import car parts sell em for about £ 30 [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  24. The meisterr zeta-r coilovers, extenders and anti corrosion spray [emoji4] Just gotta get home quick and delete the invoice from my p.c email account before the Mrs sees it [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  25. Today I be mostly buying coilovers [emoji12] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
