£40 ish I'd like to keep the early sti "spats" that fit to the side skirts and hockey sticks if possible. I've got a set of front oe ones on the uk but they're not mint and I'll have to remove the front spats to get them to fit

Thinking about getting a set of mud flaps for my classic as my wide offset wheels are chucking road grime everywhere [emoji53] Can anyone recommend a set that don't cost a fortune and don't require you to drill any holes (fit to the existing holes in the !Removed! guard's) Pics of them fitted would be good too [emoji6]

I think some people use "actuated boost" to run engine's in but I've never had to use it myself ,so wouldn't like to say if it's 100% safe to run it that way for a long time (maybe just stay off boost until it's sorted) As for a uprated map sensor my97 onwards classic oe map sensors are good for 1.5 or 1.7 bar and much cheaper than a 3 bar aftermarket one,standard subaru turbo's and engines are only good for about 1.4 bar anyways

No dog unfortunately I was parked right near the entrance in the corner of the car park. Tbh I'm more !Removed! off with the fact that someone's damaged my car than the actual damage itself , as that rear quarter has a dent on the dogleg and a ripple further back (the other side and inner arches are mint) Can't see the point in claiming on the insurance (£250 excess) the mrs has now given the go ahead to get it painted , so the funds for painting won't come out of my modding pot now[emoji6] There's normally a sliver lining hidden somwhere if you look hard enough .... Sorry i can't help much, I couldn't tell you what diff the sti fozzies have , iv'e only ever seen 1 in the flesh (fairly rare over here I think ) maybe one of the foz fellas will know . If not I'd try googling the gearbox ty number (white sticker on the bellhousing) to find the box/diff ratio and maybe a bit more info on your set up . ratio /type will both be a 3 digit number possibly r180 type 3.44 ratio If enough info can't be found try cross referencing a few impreza sti diff/gearbox components (shafts, seals, hubs ect) to see how many differences there are . hopefully it will be the same as the rest of the fozzies and use the same engine , box and drivetrain as the same version impreza

I'm a 6 ft skin head cockney with a short temper that gets the better of me somtimes, hence why I moved to sleepy suffolk in the first place . I was fooking fuming and probably would have acted inappropriately in front of the kids if I'd seen it happen . once i calm down a bit i do tend to logically look for a bright side . It is one of the 4 pannels I intended on getting sprayed this year due to a existing dent on the dogleg further down .

Drove it 100 miles or so [emoji41] parked it in the far corner of asdas car park next to a shiny 10 plate beemer (less likely to hit my car with her door) Glanced in the cars direction as I entered the shop to see a flatbed truck now parked where the beemer was [emoji53] Truck was gone when I got back but he'd left me with a tidy dent in the rear quarter [emoji35] [emoji36] [emoji109] [emoji541]

Certainly looks like it was built with track rather than road in mind. Definitely looks like a 220 jag with a nsx rear end I dunno which was made first outta those and this 89 subaru? Got a slightly better pic..... well its without the **** poor carbon neutral camouflage anyways [emoji5]

It still could be a electrical fault causing a weak spark which is being blown out by higher boost levels . But I think the v5 ecu has the fuel cut set at 1 bar so it's looking like overboosting could be the culprit . The v1&v2 map sensors only work till 1.2 bar as well so worth changing that for a v3 onwards one before mapping . Cheapest option to reduce over boost would be ... Fit a bung to reduce gass flow Refit either the standard cat or sports cat . You might get a boost solenoid code come up (due to the "actuated" boost trial) so reset the ecu once it's been plumbed back in . Have you got a restrictor pill in the vacuum lines from the boost solenoid ? As different size pills can reduce /increase boost and might be a option .

Shame you're so far away or we could have switched a few parts to see if it improved. We like to see a happy ending on here so keep us posted bud

When you changed the icv did you make sure the gauze filter was intact that sits behind it and did you use a new gasket . Spark plugs are normally gapped at 0.8 outta the box but most tend to under gap them 0.7 to insure the sparks not blown out by heavy boost . Do you know if the replacement coilpacks are definitely ok . Think your speedo should be mechanical driven so I'm a bit unsure why it's jumping around have you got wires poking out of the speedo sensor ? (Near the gearbox dipstick) check the black and white plugs coming from the gearbox while looking in that area I had a misfire on my v1sti during a remap although it only missed when the mapper upped the boost over 1.2 bar. Newage coilpack conversion resolved my issues but classic coilpacks should be good for at least 1 bar, if they're in good condition Did find this link while trying to resolve mine http://www.scoobynet.com/general-technical-10/946346-95-wrx-ra-hesitates-and-wont-rev-over-5-5k.html have you got a bung for your exhaust if so try fitting it as it might help rule out overboosting Or fit a vacuum pipe from actuator to turbo inlet and blank off the vacuum pipes you disconnect . This should give "actuated" boost 0.5 bar to see if that stops the missing . If you're near suffolk I've got plenty of spares (clocks, icv's classic coilpacks ect ) you could pop round and try switching a few bit's about .

Bit of topic but i Saw this 12 cylinder subaru pop up on my F.B news feed the link was in another language but I don't think it's for sale Never seen it before so took a screen shot ,as the link won't work unless you're a member of the closed group . Must have been some sort of concept super car surely with 585 ponies and only weighing 1240 kg

It will probably have a z4 ecu in which case 0.9 bar is about right but it sounds like a misfire/weak spark due to the other electric faults . Or the ecu's cutting the fuel just before it overboosts (hence the stock boost reading). Did you use heat 7 iridium plugs ? Maybe try gapping them at 0.7 if so

Hi n welcome to soc mate. Think the cam or crank sensor is on the same circuit as the speedo sensor so it might be worth checking the loom plugs ( big grey plugs behind the battery and near the airbox) and any other plugs/earths are clean/wiring insulation not broken . Has it been mapped for the decat? as fitting one without mapping could cause over boost which in turn will cause the fuel cut to kick in to stop it melting it's internals . have you got a boost gauge if so what bar are you running? What year and model is it ?

Hi and welcome to soc fella . although not many catalunyas were made they're pretty much a turbo 2000 with different trim and paint . So unfortunately not as high spec as the sti's , but still a nice car all the same so get some pics up pls [emoji6] There's a thread on here somewhere that lists all models and types of impreza but I'm unsure where [emoji5]

Does seem like a lot of car for the money (if it's a goodn ) I'd do a hpi check and visually check the pannel gaps to see if it's been repaired . It's not a sti ra cos it's not got a roof flap and manual window winders. But the v1 to v4 sti came with that mid level spoiler and although the water spray would be removed for the fmic, it's got the intercooler spray switch. so might be a genuine sti ,shame there's no pics under the bonnet as I think up to v2 the sti's have a build number on a plaque at the top of the suspension turret. Have a squint at the buyers guide on here and have a look if it's local

stants when I fitted the walbro to the uk I was running the standard regulator without any issues . when I fitted the forged engine and it was run in I fitted bigger injectors and a adjustable fpr the day before the remap . Probably not much point fitting the adjustable fpr in my case as neither jgm or clive attowe like to up the fuel pressure when mapping anyways (so I run at standard pressure atm ) I disconnected the battery earth when fitting my pump as I was unsure if it was a switched earth working the in tank sender and didn't want to chance getting a spark over the open fuel tank . As for releasing the pressure on the fuel lines ... I did it tank end in the pic hence the sunglasses and rags in the pic [emoji6] but did it filter end when fitting the rcm one (mainly to keep the stench of petrol out of the boot ) I was asked if I'd fitted a uprated pump by Duncan, jgm and attowe , I think they like to know that it's not a 20 yr old pump , just in case it fails and you lean off under bigger boost .

Nice little auto glym collection I use a fair bit of their stuff as well but too cold for my liking atm . Mine just gets a jet wash and a splash of wash n wax untill the weather's picked up. Mrs started looking at colour charts for the front room [emoji20] Took that as my que to brave the cold and sneak outside and find something to do on the scoob sharpish [emoji4] Took a rear wheel off to imobalize the scoob for when she came outside [emoji33] no B&Q trip for me today [emoji39] emptied the catch can ,started polishing a spare throttle body and sorted some of my spares out in the mancave instead[emoji5]

What version car loom and engine loom are you using ? If the bolts that attach the inlet to the heads are "inline" then it's narrowed the heads down to v1 to v4 . If so you'll have to use the v1/v2 engine loom , water crossover pipe , inlet manifold , fuel rails , injectors , header tank and coolant pipes . As the early heads / inlet phase isn't compatible with the v5/v6 engine loom plugs .
