My car
There was a fair few v3/v4 type r's made in comparison to the p1's . So although personally i also think the jdm type r is a better car they're not as rare as a p1 so don't fetch quite as much money . A friend of mine had a v3 type r in cashmere yellow ,completely standard with no rust and just a bit of paint fade as the only bad part . Even though yellow is a rare colour it was up for sale last year at £8.5k with not many "bites" ,unsure if hes sold it or if so how much for . theres a user on here with a yellow 1 as well but i can't his user name or whether it's a v3 or v4 . You do tend to struggle with how many are left with jdm stuff as a lot of them aint even listed on websites . My 94 v1sti impreza is fairly non existent on most "how many" or "insurance" website lists . As tidgy said the type ra forum might have a better idea , either way its nice to see a unabused example and im sure you'll get a fair price if you hold out for the right buyer .

clutch shaft
If they're genuine gaskets you dont need sealants but i think some might just smear a little bit to hold the gasket in place while fitting . Make sure you change the half moons at the back of the cams and go steady tightening the cam cover bolts . As they only need torque'ing down very lightly and you can eaisly strip the threads

Impreza WRX cat Exhaust advice required
If there's nothing wrong with the standard cat in the downpipe maybe just by a cat back for now . It will unleash the Scooby sound , be cheaper and only take about a hr to fit . Afaik the bug wrx has a pre cat in the up pipe (just before the turbo) and a main cat in the downpipe (like all model's of scoob) . When getting a remap ,most change the up pipe for a sti up pipe or aftermarket 1 without a pre cat . This helps spool and power but needs to be "mapped in" to work . So id probably leave the standard downpipe insitu until a later date . Then change both up and downpipe at some point if you decide to unleash a bit more power (get a remap) The likes of cobra,Haywood and scott, nur spec (loud) ect cat backs are available for about £200 2nd hand .As are the prodrive sports cat downpipe fitted to the prodrive ppp versions. Jdm stands for Japanese domestic market , so the exhaust seminol89 is made by a Japanese tuner [emoji6] (which are normally good quality too but hard to find over here )

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
I traced the break in the ignition power to the fuse then checked the wire for damage . a old scotch blocked connection near the ecu , looks like thats arc'd out on the ecu mount. Tidied everything up i found along the way and checked most of the interior loom too [emoji15] So hopefully i shouldn't have anymore leccy gremlins in the near future [emoji6]

Alarm system was opening the doors ,dis arming the siren and a few other features were working on it ,id checked all oe fuses and the 2 inline alarm fuses i knew of but there was a 3rd inline alarm fuse hidden behind the center consoul [emoji39] Id have never found it if i hadn't checked the loom so thoroughly [emoji851] but by fook i have never been so happy to see a blown fuse .[emoji23][emoji16]

-
New car new problem, MAPPING PLEASE HELP
Any paperwork to say who mapped it or can you ask the previous owner? As it would at least save you the ecutek licence fee if you went back to the original mapper

Fuel Leak?
If theres no running issues on boost id have a guess at the return to tank pipe on top of the fuel pump access opening or the seal on the access opening

Yeah you have to take the clutch off ,remove the thrust race, align the clutch and torque the pressure plate back down . I bought a cheap "lazer" alignment tool ftom halfrauds

Car won't start after changing fuel filter
Yeah i hate sparky stuff ,much more at home with a spanner . Still not found the fault yet , but i did by pass a fuse .thats not getting power . it fires up and the ecu avcr and afr gauge work fine just no dash lights (eml ,handbrake ,ect) so at least i know its not something expensive fried . On a plus side im learning a lot about the loom and the scoobs getting lighter by the day [emoji23]

Car won't start after changing fuel filter
Sweet glad your up n running [emoji41] I only had a couple of hrs at it last night ,tested most things and the fault seems to be between ignition barrel (has live) and the ignition fuse in the cabin (no live ) . Had a few hrs looking through wiring diagrams last night and hopefully its the under bonnet fuse that i didn't check ,as i thought it was a relay for the aircon [emoji55]

HELP! WRX stuck in limp mode?
Check and clean the engine and engine loom earths . Could try adding a extra engine earth directly from the battery negative to a bolt on the engine block . as im sure some bugeyes do have earthing issues , although it normally affects the cam sensor readings and goes into limp mode . Was the tps calibrated correctly when fitted ?

Quite possibly the same company , unless they've got some sort of agreement with cobra . As they're definitely the genuine article, just almost half price due to the brush finish pipework.
