Using Oil and EM light Issues - Please help.
savage bulldogs replied to Trikytrev777's topic in General Subaru Chat
My classic ran on 3 cylinders and it idled ok (just a bit lumpy and didnt stall) , but It only boosted to about 0.5 bar . So hopefully its just a electrical misfire and not a cylinder down on compression. I think its the lighting ,but it looks like the 2 top plugs are darker in your 1st pic ? Generally if a cylinder is misfiring , that plug will be a bit darker (sooty) . If excess oil is burning in a cylinder, the plugs normally have a oily residue . Are they all the same colour ? Have you got any excess oil in the tmic ? Can't help much with the pcv , as i Haven't got 1 on mine . Always find it better if you phone luke at import car parts , as he stocks a fair bit more than just whats listed on the website . Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk- 19 replies

You'll have to do a ecu reset , have a search for the sticky thread in the tech section on here for classic self ecu code check.. the reset process is on there Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Exhaust recommendations please
savage bulldogs replied to Sirspidey's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Yeah, im well impressed with my 3" cobra trackday cat back . Think theres a vid of it on the dyno towards the end of my build thread. If not have a search on here , as someone was asking about zorsts not so long ago and i think i posted a vid on that thread . If you do go for a cobra trackday cat back have a look on Piranahperformanceuk . As they sell new cobra systems with polished boxes and brushed finished pipework for almost half price [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

Didn't exactly do anything to the scooby today and i don't normally get drawn into black friday "deals" . But halfrauds is selling their big 200 pcs pro socket sets (normally £350) for £135 . Which is a even better bargain when you use the s.o.c discount card and get a lifetime warranty 200pcs for £114 So when it's warmer and i do , do something to my scooby I'm sure this will help [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
New impreza running problems
savage bulldogs replied to jmj's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
It depends on what version it is , version 5 (98 0nwards ish) can have the standard ecu remapped with ecutek software . So the ecu will look stock inside . Pre late 98 have to have a daughter board soldered in or replacement aftermarket ecu to allow them to be re mapped Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

What year uk 2000 is it ? Could be a boost leak but proof of the remap would be good , as if mods haven't been "mapped in" it can cause major running issues . Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Fuel pump not working - white plug, loose connection
savage bulldogs replied to Swino's topic in General Subaru Chat
I had similar symptoms (without the fan ) when a inline fuse on my aftermarket had blown . Main engine and engine loom to inlet manifold earths making a good connection? Ive got a few v1 & v2 specific ecu pin and relay pics if they're any use and if you can use a multi meter ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk- 5 replies

Well late classics up to blobeye (at least) 4 pots are definitely the same and interchangeable, as i had 04 plate blobeye 4 pot front calipers and discs on my 94 sti. But I'm unsure if the hatch hubs have the same caliper mounting bot centers or whether the discs have the same offset . You could try godspeed to see if the wrx pro caliper and disc sets they sell are the same from classic to hatch [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Dont know much about the hatch tbh . The 2 pot fronts on early classics are a direct swap for the 4 pot subaru front calipers (found on later classics and newage wrx's) But the 4 pots run bigger dia discs. You could try checking the part numbers on both discs to see if they're the same ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Sounds like a misfire , maybe weak spark being blown out by the boost . When was the last time it had a spark plug change , Whip the plugs out, see if there's any particular cylinder that seems blacker than the others to indicate a misfire. Also check the insluation on the coilpacks and "pigtail's" Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Does it do it at light throttle or just half / full throttle on boost ? Any mods induction kit , intake pipe , cat removal ect . Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Help, Engine Dead, What Parts???
savage bulldogs replied to Owenc2088's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Most imobilizers do cut spark or the fuel pump relay . Can you here the fuel pump prime when the ignition is turned on ? Engine earths , inlet manifold earth , engine loom plugs , cam and crank sensor plugs all making a good connection? Don't know anything about the tgv's apart from that most delete them and have them mapped out . But maybe try unplugging the tgv's, resetting the ecu (to wipe any codes) and see if that helps Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

Bought a copy of Japanese performance magazine. With this and the foreign beggars music video shoot, the old girls had a busy year [emoji41] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Guess I'll still have to spend a few days going through my pics and uploading them directly through s.o.c, to update the pics on my build thread then [emoji53] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
