  1. A car like that if you do want rid very quickly after buying it just sell privately - trade in value is not worth considering as at the moment good condition scoobs are retaining their value and in some cases (Type R's, Widetrack STI's etc) are increasing
  2. Double tubing is one option or using a thicker tube brazed to the plate in place of the original tube. A lot of the aftermarket support legs are stamped so not flat to increase strength. @aucky if I can get the money behind me for my startup we should talk
  3. JCT had some good feedback - scoobies have been going up in price over last two years or so - the roaring business in breaking them is having quite the impact. The photos were taken with the car in the rain so you cannot see the condition of the bodywork but it does look clean enough elsewhere. Is he doing the pulleys as well as the belt? consider investing in a water pump to get replaced at same time as belt as useful to do whilst the belt is off
  4. looking good
  5. Wotcha and welcome - pull the door panel and use multimeter or lead with a 12v light on it going to earth to see if you get power either side of relay or switch points.
  6. bigger / wider wheels or same width with spacers to fill arches. Possibly look at chassis upgrades to make it a bit stiffer, if it is anything like my NA RX it will roll into corners a bit. panel filter and a cat back exhaust for a little extra fruityness
  7. Grom link http://gromaudio.co.uk/partfinder/product/list/?make=Subaru&model=Forester&year=2004-2014 (check radio model number)
  8. very desirable motor you have there, some have gone for ridiculous prices - if you want top dollar I would suggest a specialist auction house.
  9. looks like a double din unit, food for thought but there are many to choose from with differing styles and functionality https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/kenwood-dpx-7000dab-cd-car-stereo-dab-radio-bluetooth-usb-aux-ipod-iphone-player-aerial.html You may need one of these? https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/subaru-steering-wheel-interface-adaptors.html
  10. pinned and following
  11. wotcha and welcome - GTiR, great motor
  12. or you could get an earlier motor and put a hawk front end on - blob widetrack STI for instance?
  13. Wotcha and welcome - mice piece of kit you have there, plans.... sounds like a project thread in the offing, keep a camera handy
  14. good move - yes they should be 5x100 pcd, dont know the offset off the top of head though
  15. A replacement unit is an option although dependant on model you may lose any steering wheel controls. Not heard of the bluetooth dongle option in the rear but dependant on what input would be connecting it to there may be a cable option also
  16. Wotcha and welcome - thats a tidy looking motor
  17. wont be making many UK track days with that reading
  18. Website still up??
  19. dont worry about loads of questions - stage descriptions for tuning / modification can vary widely dependant on tuner / forum / model of car. If you change the flow into and out of your engine a remap will ensure the fuelling etc is tailored to the mods you have made
  20. Wotcha and welcome!!
  21. now there is a question.... I dont know but I do know the STI has a larger wheel bearing - I dont know if this means also an internal diameter measurement? Sound like a good project thread though
  22. Kerbed the nearside alloy!! grrrrr

Wotcha and welcome - depends where in WM you are but head out towards Wales, Leominster, Hereford way, go early doors and you will find some great twisty A roads. Or take a day trip to the coast Barmouth / Aberystwyth A470 / A44 via Rhaydar both have potential
  24. Wotcha and welcome - awesome motor you have there, if you are looking for quite a bit of track work consider fitting also an air / oil separator, a sump baffle and whilst you are in there an uprated oil pickup (OEM ones can fail).
  25. Wotcha and welcome!!
