  1. Plenty of views on this subject - I like EBC - dont go for the £20 option as whilst they are great pads for general driving they heat up and fade quickly after a few miles of spirited driving. Mintex ones I found great but wore out too fast Black diamond gave good performance and reasonable longevity Consider replacing your brake lines with braided items and giving your system a flush through with 5.1 fluid also
  2. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted on progress
  3. Wotcha and welcome - hopefully someone can help - only know of petrol motors from that area though?
  4. Wotcha and welcome!!
  5. Wotcha and welcome - and what a motor to start with
  6. Nice looking motor - what is the current mileage? Good luck with the sale
  7. Wotcha and welcome - check this info on buying
  8. The work completed should mean no issues with ringland failure. 340 bhp is not stressing anything. See if the receipts for the work are there to get some reassurance. Check the rear arches for any sign of rust starting as the lip attracts dirt which just sits there.
  9. SSS have received consistently high praise on this forum - not sure I have seen much on SW. I have spoken to SSS on the phone and found them to be very helpful.
  10. Yup used mintex pads with tarox grooved discs - great stopping power but pads didnt last long - Ferodo lasted longer with similar results.
  11. All good advice - I would just go for grooved discs and not have the drilled option, there have been examples of the discs cracking. I ran them before and didnt have an issue myself but found the holes clogged up with dust so now just opt for grooves. I have used Black Diamond and Tarox discs previously with no complaints - obviously there are varying costs involved dependant on brand - Alcon etc What is your budget?
  12. Wotcha and welcome - Matt is considering selling his wagon - that has a bit more room
  13. Wotcha and welcome - you are local to me ill keep an eye out for you when out and about
  14. Wotcha and welcome - all friendly on here
  15. sorry thought you meant a general comparison of OEM vs aftermarket equipment. Agreed the sophistication of many aftermarket ECU's is superior to the OEM but tend to offer additional inputs / functionality but if you take away one sensor that provides correction for a specific set of parameters unless you have an alternative you will be reliant on the map itself and the values it contains. A syvecs unit whilst in itself is a great piece of kit if it is not connected to sensors which provide input it will not provide any corrections as conditions vary other than what is contained within the map
  16. OEM is tested and sold for a market place of massively varying conditions - operating in Northern Africa with often low fuel quality and air density with high air temperatures but also the same model in the mountains of Japan with snow and high quality 99 Ron plus fuel. Aftermarket equipment particularly items designed to improve performance are sold on the basis that they will be installed with complimentary changes to enable them to function within a narrower band of conditions.
