  1. If you go for new bonnet you can always revert to standard if you decide to sell and recover some money separately for the one with a scoop. You are looking about £90 for the scoop and about £200 for a bonnet http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Hood-Front-Panel-Primered-Subaru-Impreza-2007-2006-SU1230139-57229FE121-/231052250061?fits=Make%3ASubaru|Model%3AImpreza

  5. Any time we have had to run a car for economy reasons it has ended up costing us - primarily because the tyres are so thin and the brakes so crap I struggled to stop it from locking up every time I hit the brakes and also they just understeered at the slightest hint of moisture on the road. false economy and realistically unsafe
  6. Done

  18. Surely that should read "needs to fit a sharkeye / hatch" ?? Give forge a ring http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/Dump_Valve_for_Subaru_Impreza_MY_2001_Onwards_Including_the_2009_GR_STi--product--794.html
  19. There was an engine on here recently for 1500 - with some serious potential - ok it is possibly an unknown but still less than 3k and you would be starting again with cdb and forged parts. Slap also is not necessarily a bad thing a lot of tuned engines have slap until they are up to temp - my lads 85cc 2T crosser has slap until it is warmed up. Bottom line - do you fancy a change?
  20. Wotcha and welcome - dependant on your budget you could do far worse than go for this one however you may have to twist his arm now ;) http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/13368-2004-silver-blob-%C2%A335k-spent-in-last-12-months/
  21. lovely flat torque lines those no dips or flat spots
  22. Wotcha and welcome Ben - We have a few fozzie owners on the forum with vehicles in various states of tune, now I have never owned a Fozzie but being on this forum a bit you pick up the odd nugget of information. As I understand it the Fozzie and the Impreza share the same basic layout which is supported by the fact you can get STi versions of both so in theory if you were to invest the funds you could have a 500bhp closed deck block 2 bar of boost running hay bale carrying workhorse of snarling death. Check out Farmerpugs thread he took a similar approach to what I believe you are looking at - a sub grand workhorse, but at that price be prepared to put some wrench time in. Fuel economy - its all a trade off, if you go NA then it will be less power but also less fuel consumption, the turbo versions use more fuel but dont feel as laboured under load - if you wear a diving boot when you drive the mpg is obviously going to be lower but the smile will be bigger - its all relative Im sure Stants and the other Fozzie owners will be along in a while to contribute but feel free to get stuck in with the forum
  23. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to get stuck in we are a friendly lot ;)
