Heavy steering at parking speed
yeah possibly. just a simple and cheap to check costing about 20-50p at local garage lol

plan A is dead, long live plan B
it's more a case of whats gonna give me the best road car. 2.1 cdb is a couple quid more so in the grand scheme sod all cost difference, is been a choice to go 2.5. Cost would jump up for a cdb 2.5 but for a road car do you really need 500 or is it just pub talk? I had 390 in my hawk and how fast it built speed was amazing, take off 200kg add and extra 50-80bhp and it will go like an absolute rocket.

plan A is dead, long live plan B
so, after some contemplation and ongoing discussions decided to change engine options. Origional plan was 2.1 closed deck block, but decided to go down the 2.5 route. Being a road car the low down grunt of the 2.5 will make it alot more responsive and at 450bhp 450+ftlb its gonna make an epic road engine :-)

Heavy steering at parking speed
Check your tyre pressures as a start. Friends was under inflated and found steering heavy.

wrx 05 - 212 whp?
As above, sounds like its been mapped. Can always pop down and see the boys at engine tuner to put it on the dyno and give it a health check. but ppp is roughly 265 at the crank iirc so sounds about right

Brake Upgrade

hid kits
Personaly i'd prob stay clear of them. Kit i had had a dealy between main and full beam where the lights went off :o dunno if thats the specific kit i had or not.

Remapping the wrx
Very much an argued area lol Very few mappers i would trust with my car, Pat Herborn, Andy Forrest, paul blamare (sp) and engine tuner. Wouldn't trust anyone else.

is this a wise modification path?
tbh not huge amount of difference in but VF34 is the better turbo. Could always go for a SC36 billet, 360bhp and will outspool 35 and 34, but more money
-
Its all about that bass
TBH your best bet will be pick a tuner and get them to spec it up based on budget. 400bhp setup right will be a faster car than 450 mismatched. Some can custom build cars to to suit or sources cars for you. A reliable 450bhp is gonna need plenty of supporting mods so it's not gonna be cheap.

Brake Upgrade
stripped 3rd gear of all its teeth hahahaha had a ppg straight cut box in it, o what a sound :D
-
Brake Upgrade
righto,,,,, hahahaha Nah all joking aside really does depend on budget. Isle of man is no speed limit over the mountain, did end up liek this though lol
-
Brake Upgrade
TBH i'm not sure i'd bother. I did pads, disks and lines and they still gave up the ghost on the isle of mann in less than an hour. cheapest option i would entertain is D2 6 pot, but for the price difference i'd just say sod it and get the AP's godspeed has on offer. £1250 for a 330mm 6 pot full kit, also pretty sure ian said they go under 17's.
