  1. i havnt got one yet 😞 i kinda feel left out,,,, pmsl
  2. Appologies one and all Not sure what we can do about it at the min, short version they are creating accounts and sending the PM's, we ban one, another pops up.
  3. welcome. As said you'd be better selling it and buying another car, costs involved will be prohibative and it wont help with low down grunt anyway. For towing you want torque not BHP.
  4. Make sure you get a prob description/list of what is included in the price. Makre sure you are comparing apples with apples 🙂
  5. mmm tbh its pot luck, personaly i prefer the 2.5 engine, but in stock they are sketch at best, if your lucky will be fine, if your not budget 3k+ for an engine rebuild
  6. depends what sort oif job you want done. To do it properly glass out, disasembly where required (some go full engine out) could be anywhere from 2k and up for the time needed to do it right.
  7. Welcome, 2005wrx i'd be expecting to pay around 5 at most for a top quality one, lower for a one that isnt mint. 2.5 engine in the hawk (2006) is sketch, some are fine, some just let go if you look at them wrong.
  8. Second hand engine is just that, you may get a good one or you may get a bad one, if your planning on keeping the car I'd just bite the bullet and get it properly rebuilt, initial strip and assess will tell you what the current situation is and what's salvageable.
  9. Its pretty much pot luck, I know 2.5s that have been treated withbkid gloves and have shat themselves and I know cars that have been hammered that have been ok. I've had 3 scoobs with 2.5s, 2 of the 3 have failed.
  10. type uk and gb270 are the same car mechanicly pretty much so just consider them the same. as said jdm is 2.0 engine and is alot less prone to failure than the 2.5, however the jdm engine is no longer a proper forged engine. Which you go for is really up to you, i preffer the 2.5 over the 2.0 as they have alot more low down grunt, however if you go 2.5 i would make sure you budget for a proper rebuild just in case (cirac 3-4k for a basic rebuild done properly). It may never go, but then you might drive it 5 miles and it might go.
  11. Don't know much about HSD tbh, I've got tein flex z on my hawk and they are great, handles well but not back breaking hard or crashy.
  12. Speak to import car parts. Subaru dealer network will prob be useless.
  13. tbh i suspect you will need to give the whole engine a strip down, new bearings etc etc
  14. welcome, as said rare as hens teeth these things. keep us updated with how your getting on, a and update the thread with lots of pics 😄
  15. why do you need an s7? s7 and s6 are pretty similar
  16. hahaha, its a whole different ball game 😄
  17. no no, they are decent kit for what they do, its just a case of they havn't been made for many many years now and all electronics arn't the most reliable as they get older. Link vs syvecs isnt as big a gap as you think, its a toss up i've been making for mine. What you don't find out till the time you have one fitted is you need certain extra things, for example to use the full features and get the best out of it you need a sensor pack is about £1000 for decent sensors and installation. So for mine, Link ecu £1400 (ish), was quoted around £3k fitted inc fuel flex etc Syvecs S7L ecu £2100 (ish), was quoted around £3.5k fitted with fuel flex etc So about £500 new (seemed to be less cost for the syvecs installation and mapping so could just be a bit company dependant as clinic is syvecs home base of course) Fitting, mapping and sensor pack, fuel flex, cal switch etc is all gonna be the same across them. which all adds money on to the cost but would be the same for both. The syvecs does have some additional features that the link doesn't, rolling launch controll, more inputs and oututs allowing more things to be connected. You can pick up second hand syvecs now and again so an S6 would do the job and prob be around £1500. But that said the link is more than enough for most setups.
  18. a decent condition working apexi is become very rare now adays, given the hassel of old electronics i'd just chuck a link in, or a syvecs if your feeling flush of course 😄
  19. would help if i clicked the right link for the brochure,,,,,,,,,,,, lol was looking at it and it was just tech specs and i was thinking what brochure? hahahaha
  20. where ever you get it mapped dont get dunkhan graham aka racedynamix, total cowboy.
  21. So what are the specific differences?
  22. s202 is basicly a limited edition of the bug, if its decent nick then buy it 🙂 https://www.type-ra.com/impreza-s202-sti-version/ https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/gallery-info?id=6 off the top of my head, it should have, titanium exhaust, roof vent, wheels are unique to the model, carbon spoiler, black seats etc etc
  23. http://www.en.japanclassic.ru/booklets/161-subaru-impreza-gdgg-2004-wrx-wr-limited-gd-gg.html cant see anything on it that mentions twin scroll
  24. tbh i didnt think any of the wrx's were twin scroll.
