Alot of units have different connectors and will need an addaptor as jay has said/linked. Find the right one and plug it in and job should be a fish.

well im feeling worse today than i did yesterday so looks like im not at the bottom yet. One of Gems work coworkers is not far off being taken into hospital due to breathing difficulties, so all those saying it's not serious really do need to wake up.
  4. It's one of those daft rules. If its there it has to be in good nick, if its not, doesnt matter. It's there due to uk/eu crash regs so personaly i would get another one. Being a bolt on part its not a big job. Part number might be different, but the video shows what to do etc.
  5. welcome, make sure you get a decent warrenty from the seller that covers the engine inc a rebuild just in case
  6. U shape bit can be taken off and pass with it off (JDM's dont have them). Sills is repairable (my dad has his done), brake pipes can be repalced without too much hassel. Could get it retested at a friendlier place after the repairs are done, get some quotes for the repairs and go from there
  7. i'm guessing its a 2.5 turbo? the 1500-2k is for an engine rebuild, although a cheap one. i suspect it may have dropped a ring land, but as said needs looking at properly to diagnose

My wife tested positive for it yesterday and i have same symptoms (not the ones you have to have to get tested though), so im assuming i have it. For the wife its been a bad cold, for me its been a pretty mild cold. Friend had it few months back and still hasnt got his taste back. Anyone else had it?
  9. was she fit? or not pics exchanged? asking for a friend,,,,, pmsl
  10. i havnt got one yet 😞 i kinda feel left out,,,, pmsl
  11. Appologies one and all Not sure what we can do about it at the min, short version they are creating accounts and sending the PM's, we ban one, another pops up.

welcome. As said you'd be better selling it and buying another car, costs involved will be prohibative and it wont help with low down grunt anyway. For towing you want torque not BHP.

Make sure you get a prob description/list of what is included in the price. Makre sure you are comparing apples with apples 🙂
  14. mmm tbh its pot luck, personaly i prefer the 2.5 engine, but in stock they are sketch at best, if your lucky will be fine, if your not budget 3k+ for an engine rebuild

depends what sort oif job you want done. To do it properly glass out, disasembly where required (some go full engine out) could be anywhere from 2k and up for the time needed to do it right.
  16. Welcome, 2005wrx i'd be expecting to pay around 5 at most for a top quality one, lower for a one that isnt mint. 2.5 engine in the hawk (2006) is sketch, some are fine, some just let go if you look at them wrong.
  17. Second hand engine is just that, you may get a good one or you may get a bad one, if your planning on keeping the car I'd just bite the bullet and get it properly rebuilt, initial strip and assess will tell you what the current situation is and what's salvageable.
  18. Its pretty much pot luck, I know 2.5s that have been treated withbkid gloves and have shat themselves and I know cars that have been hammered that have been ok. I've had 3 scoobs with 2.5s, 2 of the 3 have failed.
  19. type uk and gb270 are the same car mechanicly pretty much so just consider them the same. as said jdm is 2.0 engine and is alot less prone to failure than the 2.5, however the jdm engine is no longer a proper forged engine. Which you go for is really up to you, i preffer the 2.5 over the 2.0 as they have alot more low down grunt, however if you go 2.5 i would make sure you budget for a proper rebuild just in case (cirac 3-4k for a basic rebuild done properly). It may never go, but then you might drive it 5 miles and it might go.
  20. Don't know much about HSD tbh, I've got tein flex z on my hawk and they are great, handles well but not back breaking hard or crashy.
  21. Speak to import car parts. Subaru dealer network will prob be useless.
  22. tbh i suspect you will need to give the whole engine a strip down, new bearings etc etc
  23. welcome, as said rare as hens teeth these things. keep us updated with how your getting on, a and update the thread with lots of pics 😄
  24. are you sure its headgaskets and not rocker gasket?
  25. why do you need an s7? s7 and s6 are pretty similar
