  1. Another small update, engines now been stripped, condition wise it's pretty good, only issues found were worn valve guides and worn valve seats. Was also starting to show signs of getting ready for headgasket to fail, hadn't gone yet but wouldn't have been long. Block is currently off at machine shop, i understand the closed decking is done and its now waiting for honing etc Time frame is still a couple of months as there's a que at the machine shop and there's about 5 or 6 engines to be built in the que even when the block does come back. Also decided to sack off the secondary air system while its out.
  2. Gets advertise that way as well so dont worry about it.
  3. ah you mean road mapped, live mapping refers to tweaks being made as the car is running/driving rather than changes being done between pulls.
  4. no, it's a specific model, difference are what you have said lol
  5. glad its sorted. did you get a dyno graph?
  6. welcome, does it have leather seats?
  7. they are great cars, but be warned they suck mpg wise if your using it as a daily. Also worth looking at an STI instead of a wrx
  8. it's getting there then, keep on it chap, does you credit
  9. 60k miles on a clutch isnt bad considering your towing etc
  10. Sounds very much like headgasket failure. Bad news is its a full rebuild job inc bottom end. As far as if you can do it yourself, totaly up to you. however you need to be very careful with tolerances etc and needs to be done in a clean and dry envoronemnt.
  11. Small update, poped up to clinic today. Engines out if the car ready for stripping. First hit of bad news is i checked the turbo while i was up there and its got a crack in the housing. Not sure what plan is for thay yet. Need to find out what report says when engine is stripped.
  12. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/hotel-valet-cut-porsche-botched-parking-job-sydney-100100383.html whoops
  13. yeah, they arn't bad prices now either, decent one is under 20k, just need to budget for having headstuds replaced on certain age cars
  14. getting there dude, pretty quick turn aroudn that
  15. sound epic though, besides, not like mpg on a scoob is exactly great lol
  16. was looking at C63's, got stupid offers for mine so sod it. i had looked at tuning the c63 already,,,,, lol
  17. hahaha true true. to be fair i was looking to sell it but was getting crap offers, so sod it crank her up 😄
  18. My warning radar has gone off like a train at that price, 5k with 110k miles on is the cheapest on trader so its a good £1500, very similar car is up at around £6k. Why is the car £2k under value? If there was nothing majorly wrong dealer would put it right and sell it for double the price. i suspect its got with headgasket failure or using oil so dropped a ring land and dealer is trying to offload it
  19. Small update, new suspension is great. Quieter in general, doesn't knock and rides better (less crashy and less bouncy). Car has now gone for for a fettle on the engine, pretty much same basic spec as my type R, Closed deck converted block ACL Bearings Manley Rods Mahle Pistons ARP headstuds perrin inlet pipe And then comes 1000 miles of torture lol
  20. If your worried then i'd pop it down to a specialist and get them to have a look. given the results i wouldnt be too worried myself
