  1. what weight it is?
  2. Sounds very much like headgasket failure. Bad news is its a full rebuild job inc bottom end. As far as if you can do it yourself, totaly up to you. however you need to be very careful with tolerances etc and needs to be done in a clean and dry envoronemnt.
  3. Small update, poped up to clinic today. Engines out if the car ready for stripping. First hit of bad news is i checked the turbo while i was up there and its got a crack in the housing. Not sure what plan is for thay yet. Need to find out what report says when engine is stripped.
  4. mines awol for 3 months 😞
  5. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/hotel-valet-cut-porsche-botched-parking-job-sydney-100100383.html whoops
  6. yeah, they arn't bad prices now either, decent one is under 20k, just need to budget for having headstuds replaced on certain age cars
  7. getting there dude, pretty quick turn aroudn that
  8. sound epic though, besides, not like mpg on a scoob is exactly great lol
  9. was looking at C63's, got stupid offers for mine so sod it. i had looked at tuning the c63 already,,,,, lol
  10. hahaha true true. to be fair i was looking to sell it but was getting crap offers, so sod it crank her up 😄
  11. My warning radar has gone off like a train at that price, 5k with 110k miles on is the cheapest on trader so its a good £1500, very similar car is up at around £6k. Why is the car £2k under value? If there was nothing majorly wrong dealer would put it right and sell it for double the price. i suspect its got with headgasket failure or using oil so dropped a ring land and dealer is trying to offload it
  12. Small update, new suspension is great. Quieter in general, doesn't knock and rides better (less crashy and less bouncy). Car has now gone for for a fettle on the engine, pretty much same basic spec as my type R, Closed deck converted block ACL Bearings Manley Rods Mahle Pistons ARP headstuds perrin inlet pipe And then comes 1000 miles of torture lol
  13. If your worried then i'd pop it down to a specialist and get them to have a look. given the results i wouldnt be too worried myself
  14. Not really today, but drop the car off at clinic tomorrow for a couple of months to have a bit of an engine tweak done hehe
  15. i'd be more worried about any readings between them. but 126 across the board is fine on a cold engine
  16. was a bit of discussion about this, seems more a case of he doesn't want the hassel that comes with alot of the early classics, aka alot of not very well looked after sheds that need mechanical issues sorted first. tbh i cant blame him
  17. Type R for the win, welcome
  18. ah cool tar, dodged that one
  19. What models are affected?
  20. so dump valve isn't discharging when you come off the throttle either? and it drives 100% fine and no funny noises bar no boost?
  21. just what software is used. Opensource is well known to be based on hacked ecutek software from over the pond lol Upisdes is no license fee, downside is no tech support and zero regulation of the software
  22. glad it all went ok, please tell me he road tested it after the map?
  23. not a bad way to spend a couple of million quid :D
  24. are you sure they are for a 2008 sti? PCD was 5x114 not 5x100?
