  1. Sign of the tines. Traffic flow on forums is down across the board. Fb and a drop in owner numbers has hit scoob scene hard 😞 this site has fits a bursts so keep an eye on it, its got a good bunch of folks on here.
  2. im yet to see any stock td04's make 300 without some sort of discrepancy with the graphs/settings on the dyno/temp correction. Hybrids are a different kettle of fish though of course. Hot days tend to give better figures than cold days due to over correction, which doesn't happen on hot days due to that correction not being there.
  3. I still remember a fudged figure at a dyno day, 286bhp, out if a 2.0 sport? Brought some sniggers but highlights a point of how easy it is to fudge.
  4. Watch out for wheel fitment, they wont go under normal wheels.
  5. Being a 2.5 i'd be leaning more towards the headgasket. best bet is get a sniff test done and see what the result is.
  6. Yeah saw this, i expect the dyno is being generous. Also hot days tend to skew figures higher because the dyno over corrects. i'd like to see the actual printout, but i highly doubt its actualy over 300bhp
  7. really depends if you want to keep it or not. If you wanna keep it then i'd look at having an engine built to go in it, a second hand engine is just that, also tryign to find the right engine will be very very difficult
  8. as above :)
  9. we only get better through our mistakes :)
  10. you mean they don't come with it standard? lol yeah very common, rare to find one that isn't. Prob going to reuse it as the crack is small.
  11. Another small update, engines now been stripped, condition wise it's pretty good, only issues found were worn valve guides and worn valve seats. Was also starting to show signs of getting ready for headgasket to fail, hadn't gone yet but wouldn't have been long. Block is currently off at machine shop, i understand the closed decking is done and its now waiting for honing etc Time frame is still a couple of months as there's a que at the machine shop and there's about 5 or 6 engines to be built in the que even when the block does come back. Also decided to sack off the secondary air system while its out.
  12. Gets advertise that way as well so dont worry about it.
  13. ah you mean road mapped, live mapping refers to tweaks being made as the car is running/driving rather than changes being done between pulls.
  14. no, it's a specific model, difference are what you have said lol
  15. it's a WRX-SL then 🙂
  16. glad its sorted. did you get a dyno graph?
  17. welcome, does it have leather seats?
  18. they are great cars, but be warned they suck mpg wise if your using it as a daily. Also worth looking at an STI instead of a wrx
  19. it's getting there then, keep on it chap, does you credit
  20. happy bday and buggers 😞
  21. 60k miles on a clutch isnt bad considering your towing etc
  22. what weight it is?
  23. Sounds very much like headgasket failure. Bad news is its a full rebuild job inc bottom end. As far as if you can do it yourself, totaly up to you. however you need to be very careful with tolerances etc and needs to be done in a clean and dry envoronemnt.
  24. Small update, poped up to clinic today. Engines out if the car ready for stripping. First hit of bad news is i checked the turbo while i was up there and its got a crack in the housing. Not sure what plan is for thay yet. Need to find out what report says when engine is stripped.
