  1. Seems to be varying advice on running in depending on who you ask. Scoobyclinic have always advised the same way and they have built hundreds and never had issues with rings not bedding in, they use the same method for every engine they build from race to road, well apart from drag engines, but they only do about 300 miles before they are goosed anyway. I've had 3 built, my dads had one and never had issues with oil bypass (never needed to top up the oil between services) or failure so i highly doubt there is any problem with running 1000 mi'es without boost is an issue. I suspect its case of procedure for the spec.
  2. 1000 miles with no boost 😞 i feel your pain 😞
  3. Yeah theu pop up now and again, theres only 4 currently so very rare. Well worth having your own dine if tiu want one so yiu can spec it yourself, they also have the paint code for the proper wrc colour 😉
  4. Hard to say tbh. You never get your money back on mods, or at least not all of it, but they do look epic.
  5. whoops, any info on the build spec?
  6. need to see side on of the top blade. v5 is more or less flat, v6 kicks up at the back
  7. Looks tidy, do you know who rebuilt the engine and why?
  8. 100% a type R, version wise its either a 5 or 6, can you show a pic of the rear spoiler?
  9. 2 door import is one of only 2 cars. a type R or 22b, wont be a 22b (trust me you;d know if you had one) so can tell you 100% it will be a Type R. Sounds like its be registered wrong at the DVLA, which isnt uncommon. get some pics up :)
  10. Slight correction you can check the applied model code
  11. you cant, how many doors does it have?
  12. Is that def the right picture, from what i can tell its aftermarket, not factory unit?
  13. as far as I'm aware, havn't seen him or the car in a few months, i dont think he drives it that much, it was up for sale again at one point.
  14. The black one was built for marv a mate of mine, got sold on to a lad called chris whos from notts as well
  15. Tidgy replied to a post in a topic in General Subaru Chat
Hawk onwards 5 speed is considerably stronger so shouldn't be an issue unless your ham fisted with it, i ran 390/420 on one for 15 months no issue and know a few others who have been well over 400.
  16. Cheers, no longer have the car now sadly, clinic returned it to stock and resprayed it and its been sold on, good knews is i know who the owner is so know he'll take care of it 😄
  17. Clinic's done a few of them to various spec's. Nice bit of kit for sure
  18. What mods does rhe car have? Has it been remapped?
  19. thats a bodge fix anyway, is just covers the noise, not fix the problem. look at a decent set of aftermarket either shocks or coilovers
  20. 2.5 has known issues with headgaskets and ringlands. They dont all go but a higher percentage than most engine types
  21. Sounds way way too cheap 1800 for rebyild and clutch change
  22. With a nocking engine and being stood for many years wont be worth huge amounts im afraid 😞 Being a wrx will only be 4-5k at most even in top condition. Engine your looking at a 3-4k bill, plus a car standing for years wont have done anything for the seals and other rubber components. Even though it has unused tyres i expect it will need a new set anyway unless they went on recently? I'd say anything over £1500 and your doing well.
  23. Yeah its same everywhere. Up to you, so much crap ibformstion gets given out on fb is the downside.
