    Hacking

when they hit the NHS they crossed the line as far as im concerned, send MI6 in a put a bullet in their heads, sounds harsh but they risked hundreds, if not thousands of lives today just for money.
  2. yeah well worth it in your case
  3. Yeah, why it tends to be only done when engine is in bits, cost doesn't justify the gains
  4. Put the vid up in YouTube and link it here
  5. Was an Audi Main dealer that got caught as well a while back.
  6. Yeah one of the things i read said gains vary depending on tune level. mines V5 so 98-99, TGV came in 2001 hehe
  7. Not far off at a guess, manifold off to get at which isn't a simple job in itself.
  8. it's been proven that each sticker adds 12.65749bhp,
  9. I cant figure out where they got the hp gain from. all the tgv deletes i find they talk about custom tune (in the US flash maps are the norm), which will always see gains over a standard map or even a flash map. Also seems to be they combine it with egr deletes and other bits and bobs so isn't just a tgv delete. Not saying it wont improve things, but i take what comes out of the US with a pinch of salt most of the time rather than actual fact. Did you find any threads that were before, during and after the tgv was removed?
  10. lol, doubt it, got dales close by so no residential streets. Reason it kicked off with clinic so much was the owner refused to show the video, made up half the story then went straight to the press. Don't get me wrong, shouldn't have happened in the first place, but they guy was looking to stir it up. Apparently he's done it before elsewhere and never took up the offer for his car to be checked over by RCM, so pretty obvious he was never that bothered.
  11. There's def a downturn in scoobs in general. There at the stage where you can pick one up for 1-2k so people think oo cheap performance car and buy one. They then find out come service time its still a 30k car. They can't afford it so scrimp on servicing, which then means it blows up. Then they cant afford to rebuild it so they either break it or sell it too a breaker. Give it a few years and prices are gonna spike like they have with type r's and RA's and you'll find they become rarer so people are more prepared to spend money on keeping them going.
  12. haha, tbh I know its only 4 screws to undo the butterfly, but it typically gets done during rebuild so you never know what affect it actually has.
  13. seems to be things have moved on a bit towards alcatek, but he biggest issue is customer services sucks baboons balls with it :(
  14. Best bet to do a dyno run before with them in and run after with them out. see what the difference is.
  15. As above the stock ecu isn't mappable unless you put a daughter board in, so depends if those places do that or not.
  16. Wont cause cold start issues (they were removed on my hawk). I'm not sure why they would give any bhp increase though. They are only closed on cold start so unless they stay closed they arn't going to make much difference. Unless they are basing it on removing the bar that stays in place?
  17. Make sure you keep a copy of the vid and provide them with a copy. Other option is report it to the police, but depends how far you want to go. Bedding in depends on the pads, so do some don't. Other than potential incorrect bedin wont have harmed the car at all. See what happens when you speak to them.
  18. First port of call is go back to the garage and complain, show them the footage and go from there.

  21. Personally i;d go for the later model of the 2. If you can find a 2005 JDM then best of both
  22. Classic is raw performance, where as new age is a tad more refined. how many miles a day do you do? what sort of driving, back roads/motorways?
  23. Welcome. You looking for raw performance or performance with some refinement?
  24. Where ever you go make sure you check exactly what is and isn't included in the quotes so you don't end up with a nasty surprise and are comparing like for like.
  25. Ask the cost lol Issue with the block is how thin the walls are, milling those out and putting new liners in that are alot thicker solves the wall issue problem. Down side is cost, its not cheap and there is a risk the liners. You cn also got the the extreme of a billet block as well, but iirc the last time i saw one was about 15k, for the block alone :o
