  1. any pics?
  2. If you bought it from a garage then you DO have recourse to take it back and get them to repair it, although i would be pushing for your money back as i doubt they will pay for a full build. Would be my first port of call.
  3. what does the vin plate say? Odd coloured ones do pop up now and again
  4. hmm, tough choice. nah, easy one, bring on the powaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! hahaha
  5. always eliminate leaks first just in case, also do a sniff test before you start on the engine, should tell you if the gaskets gone or not
  6. Go through and check all the hoses first, 50ml every 400 miles won't be very obvious, look for dried coolant residue
  7. That's interesting, check out 06-07 sti vs 08, sti in 06-07 was highest bracket, hatch dropped to one below. 06/07 STI - C02 = 257 08 STI - C02 = 243 08 STI 330s - C02 = 270-281
  8. welcome. Have to say im not familiar with Aussy models, so whats a CS9? get some pics up :)
  9. yeah different setup. doesnt meaa one of them might not be duff though
  10. rally? ouch, never knew it went higher. bummer
  11. Won't always throw up codes, that's why you need a specialist. My car had a misfire but no codes and turned out to be a duff leed.
  12. ah k, something has changed them, could be crank sensor but could be alot of other things :( Can you get it to a specialist for a diagnosis? (and i dont just mean computer says jobbie)
  13. how has the boost been turned up?
  14. TBH im not actualy sure, had it done to my volvo and it then blew up a month later. Did seem to run better after though to be fair, that was a diesel. Theres some debate about if its worth it on a subaru engine. Due to the way they work they are less susceptible to build up due to the design of them, especially if you run Vpower with the cleaning agents in it. Im not aware of anyone who has done a true back to back to find out actualy what difference it makes.
  15. Sounds like it Needs a good once over with a specialist. Could be the exhaust is causing the fueling issues and 2as never mapped for it, or it could be fuel pump is on its way out etc etc. Need to get it looked at by someone who knows what they are doing
  16. was already in the highest band iirc so made no difference.
  17. Yeah get it checked out, but from what you describe doesnt sound good. Did you buy it private or from a garage?
  18. Catalunya was a UK only car so would have been the full inventory in the UK. Type r was jap only and special order in Japan but no limit on how many. Made to order just refers to they were only built when they had a customer, it wasn't a limited edition as such.
  19. By nock do you mean from in the engine itself or something like a mount? If it's engine nock at low revs could be crank bearings, just depends.
  20. Depends who you ask, to me P1 is a watered down type r, so IMO Type r is a much better car.
  21. If its not been mapped for the mods could well be causing the issue
  22. yeah its proven to be not very accurate unfortunately.
  23. type-ra may have the info but no idea if theres anyway to actualy tell
  24. not sure what specialists are up your way unfortunately, hopefully someone else can help
