Dash camera footage always look slower than what the car is doing, I think especially if you have a wide angled lens one. I guess you could compare speed reading of your gps with your speedo (might be 3mph slower unless your speedo has been calibrated) then compare the readings with the dash cam. Could just be as simple as the leads? Mine (2001) was misfiring after I bent one trying to take out plugs without removing the air box etc. As a 2.5 NA owner I would love a bigger engine with lpg. A delivery driver I know uses a 2.0 uk2000 with lpg and it he says cost wise it's about the same as his old Astra turbo diesel Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Engine running hot ????
Mark D replied to MikeDB's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Some obd2 readers can see what the water temperature is, could maybe leave that on while running to see if it cools down when moving etc Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
There's a buyee dual lens one for around £30 which is good in low light (think it's from WDR), comes with 2 separate cameras, one to mount on the rear and records both at the same time on the same card. Can be set to stay off and turn on when it detects movement, although it takes about 5 secs or more to turn on. Then records for 10 secs then turns itself off. (Closing the door too hard can make it turn on) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You could trrrry the black connectors to see if it would read out the codes, on the 2000 Impreza it did, but don't think I even have the connectors on the 2001 legacy. Where abouts are you? Perhaps there's someone here near you with a scan tool Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

New round here and got meself my first Subaru

Nice looking car :) bought some tint for mine, hoping to do it some time soon! If it's an auto you might be able to do the 'secret handshake' I think it's called from memory, to bring up some diagnostic codes. Works for my slightly older one anyway. Never got stuck in snow/ice apart from one time I reversed into someone's steep drive and on the way out the car beached on the snow, but after removing some snow, no problem :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
My friends old car would overheat, hot air only coming out when he turned or accelerated, fan would stay on etc. He said later on the cause of it was broken blade in the waterpump Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Any black smoke when it does it? Had a Nissan do something similar, (all the maf cleaning references was due to that car!) plugged my reader in, it would run with fuel trims at 0%... then it would try to 'correct' by going to 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% then just stay there running really rich then go back down to 0% and start all over. Anyway, takes 2 minutes to check for codes. Even if your check engine light isn't on, there could be codes stored... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Where abouts are you? There's an Impreza breakers near poringland, they also have a garage if work needs to be done. When I drive an Impreza, I will get a wave/nod from other Subaru drivers... when I drive my legacy... nothing. So look at a picture of a legacy, burn that image into your mind and make sure you give a wave/nod when you see one incase I drive by :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

In Norwich there's a guy that uses a uk2000 as a food delivery car, also in the area an Impreza sport and a legacy used as delivery cars, doing maybe 100+ miles a day! Maybe you just need to change your set up :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Your old car key looks like a house key :) Was thinking of saying just sand it down, but would the grooves need to be deeper aswell? Won't the key cutting shop be able to do anything to it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You might have an engine code stored... even if your check engine light isn't on. Try checking codes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Idles rough as in the engine misses or idles higher than normal and goes back to normal? Plug wire damaged when changing plugs and occasionally shorting? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Snuck into the front of what looked like a convoy of 4 Imprezas and a civic with outlaws written on the back of some. Was in a yellow Impreza :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

When cleaning a maf on a Nissan I used different intake cleaner, electrical contact cleaner... probably used brake cleaner can't remember, but everything finally went back to normal after using an egr valve cleaner! Just make sure whatever you use, doesn't leave anything behind! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Any cheap subaru impreza about for a little project. £300
Mark D replied to Charley's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Subaru isn't the same as Ferrari.. they make performance cars and other cars aswell. 0-60mph time for a daily driver doesn't mean much, I can use my NA for my second job delivering food alright with all the benefits of driving a Subaru, without having to worry about cooling down, mpg etc. I know two other people delivering with imprezas, the guy with the turbo had to convert to LPG to make it worth while. Why not get another car? He loves driving his Subaru, he gets paid to drive it. Why don't I get a turbo Subaru? I want a car with good handling, never gets stuck, okish mpg that I could use for commuting to my main job and also use as a delivery car. ...also no space on the drive as 3 cars altogether. Anyway, that's why some people can live with NA! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I was thinking that as saw/read/heard it before, only thing being one company has to sell a certain amount before the other could sell any. Soooooo.... basically a Subaru being driven now! Any crashes would be bad for Toyota, good handling/times would be down to Subaru engineering :P win/win! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
