  1. It's doing my head in only when I turn right and over some bumps but not others [emoji35] it's on a 1st gen foz so essentially an impreza lol. Hopefully it will cure it once and for all,
  2. I've changed springs struts topmount's and droplinks still get it so it's either the arb bush (on order) or the shims & clips on the pads missing and the bads are moving slightly on low speed braking
  3. I've a pedders kit on my sf. Well priced and since August no problems, can't really tell you how different they are to standard as mine were completely dead, I imagine they'd be a little too soft for the sti as Mr b says. They do do sti kits. May be worth speaking to them if you have no joy with the kyb's
  4. It's not the driveshaft catching the top of the exhaust ? I replaced a hanger rubber on my mazda and the new one just brought it into alignment with the shaft where it joins the diff, only ever caught and made a horrible noise when I set off up hill.
  5. Hi mate, have a look here and pm him http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11177-2x-td04-turbos-fully-rebuilt#entry65230 that's going to put some right power into the mx5 !
  6. When I'm on holiday [emoji30] that's what you get for telling the other half to 'just book what ever you want' I've learnt my lesson, get to japshow on 5th July David [emoji1]
  7. Yeah I figured a change will be good for the car anyway. Just can't get hold of rcm at the mo, think somone may have pulled the plug on the server before they left for Christmas [emoji51] I'll try ringing tomorrow morning
  8. I know just keep messing with something that ain't broke ?
  9. What's it not doing this time ? Ordered some new front arb bushes, stupidly I ordered from a company closed till the 5th [emoji35]
  10. Try www.importcarparts.co.uk they have all the necessary bits to rebuild, they also sell short motors. Failing that if it's to expensive you could always get one from a breakers but then you run the risk of the same happening
  11. There's a blue hawk on the bay at the mo for breaking the front ends had it though
  12. Or pull the relay is what I've done previously, still always loads of fuel in the lines that Leaks all over
  13. Never got chance to speak to rcm before Christmas, some tuners say putting an uprated pump on the earlier cars messes with the pressure and to fit a regulator, personally I think this is a bit overkill, did you have any problems with yours just runing uprated pump or did the fpr go on at the same time ? Also the reckon it's not worth it for cars running under 300bhp, saying that the pump is probably the one that came out the factory.
  14. looks almost the same, it could do with being a little tighter on fasteners 1&2 but it's on and is getting a bit more pliable the more I worked it, I couldn't be bothered with the turbo gasket change so when I eventually get round to it I'll tighten it up
  15. Not the easiest for three and four took about an hour after having to start again from step two
  16. That's what I thought but when you pull it around it doesn't align, looking at pics of other installs the cut out is to allow the bottom to fold round the stud so you can push the fasteners right under the collar of the up pipe. It says it's for all wrx/sti turbos so a Td05 or a vf series is a little bit bigger and maybe aligns slightly differently?
  17. Fitted
  18. Battle won ! Although it would have taken me half hour less if I'd not managed to Unhook the 3rd eyelet only discovering this once I was on the home straight, never mind it's on and all good [emoji51]
  19. Yep wash clay wash again if needed, cut prep, polish, wax
  20. Let turbo blanket battle commence ! Looks easy enough now I've got the car on ramps just going to wait to cool down before doing anything silly.
  21. Like the matrix, "there is no spoon"
  22. Haha well we're meeting at middle of Jan so i'll see what nick has to say, any pics ?
  23. Hello welcome, 1st off the gtr will be approaching 20 + years old so unless it's fresh off the boat you'll have usual issues as rusty areas to battle with. That 2.6L goes through fuel like noting else especially when pushing on, not sure about maintenance as i only know people who have had them never worked on one, how far is your daily commute ? you have the need for 4 doors and decent rear space ? Then scooby all the way, should be less to maintain due to being half the age, I'd say the subaru has the edge over every day drivability too. It will also be safer due to more recent rigorous crash legislation. Trying to give an Un biased view here as they are both cracking cars the 32 is one of my all time favourite motors. I'd say get to some meets see and have a ride in both then make your decision
  24. Hello, yes it's a common problem, however they tend to keep sticking until you either refurbished them or buy a reconditioned pair, many people change the pistons for stainless items so they don't corrode, there's a member here that does them for a reasonable price. Pagid pads are good, are you planning on putting any more power into the car ? If so I'd look at upgrading the pads now so your not wasting money in six months time when you decide to upgrade again
