  4. I would have thought it reads opposite, what software are you using ? I get mental reading at cold startup with the pistons rattling around,then when warm I typically see between 0-3° retardation on the timing

Anyway fitted an engine sump heater Cold start up time has decreased and all fluids come up to temp alot quicker Been looking at installing a catch can for a while but couldn't get my head round what's what with regards to routing plumbing, as loads of different ways to do it, I've decided to keep the stock breather system and go for a twin set up eventually, so new pcv valve ordered as it's a 30k service part ?? Less rom in the foz bay than impreza so I knocked up a bracket and did a test fit of where it's going to live

  11. I read that the grimmspeed one isn't brilliant for track wor, the perrin one looks good and has good reviews but it's pricy, I'm in the process of adding mishimoto cans to my set up

  15. I just use the hosepipe, and put about 40l of water through the system from top hose then I just re connect the hoses fill up with water run till warm and going through system, drain and repeat. I kmow it's not the best as not distilled water but not had an issues yet

  17. I'm trying to move house today so if noting gets done that's why ! I didn't even know these were available I wanted coils for mine but again due to the bad reviews on the bc's I gave up, what spring rates did you go for ?
  18. Only thingI don't like about yours Geoff is the size of the plate why jag and others, rover springs to mind too, made the plate to fit that hole,who in the design dept thought ah I know a massive yellow plastic bit would finish it off nicely ?

Advisory on the fronts 😆 I like them alot might be the magpie in me coming out with all the shiny red bits, Good write up for anyone that's never attempted to change a shock beofre mate [emoji106] I'll see if we can chop bits of the thread out for the 'how to section' Least on these we don't have to ***** around compressing springs to be able to drop the shock out.

Hello & welcome As you say it varies, classics dont really like them unless they have been accounted for in a remap, New ages seem to take to them better, don't know if that's due to being a little more advanced ecu wise, What type of dv were you looking at ? May be worth trying it and see what the outcome is, some owners say the adjustable ones are best but others run stuff the the hks with no problems
  22. I have no idea mate, presume you'd need some hardware not sure if it's stalk operated ? Then ecu connectors ?
  23. Not really the vf has more top end where as the 04 will run out of puff around 270 bhp &4.5k The vf will see bigger numbers but slower spool, if you your looking at upgrades in the future a vf34 would be a good upgrade
