  1. Sounds like a plan If the fuel pump is more than five years old it is worth considering a replacement particularly if you are going for a turbo injector upgrades and the associated remap
  2. My 2p - chassis is good but it is compromised by the FWD - The new Civic is supposed to have a lot of new electronic trickery to put the increased power down. wrt bikes I rode a newish Fireblade (compared to my tweaked 89 FZR it was bleeding edge ) at the Ron Haslam Race School Donnington and it was very easy to get on with, dragged knee, had front wheel lift on back straight whilst flat out in top (where the Dunlop bridge used to be) - and yes the data logger did record a throttle position change as adrenaline state brown kicked in for a split second. Have ridden a couple of CBR 600's (RR and road version) they are both capable bikes but then I had a crack on an older 03 R6 and found that to be so much more engaging Had a spin on a blackbird when they came out and that was a great bike also... But for me whilst Hondas do everything fine there is just no excitement - they just dont make me lumpy. Instead of a Blackbird I find myself browsing for Kwak ZX12's and instead of a Fireblade I will look for ZX10R's or GSXR1000 / 750's - always been a Yam guy until the crossplane crank thing came in and made it sound funny. (looking forward to seeing the new ZX10RR) I would be interested to drive an NSX and see how that turned out but at the price of one there are other motors I would probably consider which would put a smile on my face - Nissan GTR, Aston Martin, Jag, Monaro but most likely I would build a Gobstopper tribute with the cash
  3. A rebuild (whilst being slightly more in cost upfront) will give you a known baseline and peace of mind - a replacement engine may let go as it will be an unknown
  4. All depends on how they have been maintained and how the engine has been treated. The way I look at it if buying a car with that mileage is completing an engine rebuild gives me a known baseline to move forward so it is a cost I would factor in.
  5. not had any issues with mine so far but always had issues with bonnet switch on other cars - would check that first
  6. I dont know but I would guess you will be changing it along with the engine - but if you are going to the trouble of completing a reshell I would be doing a ground up job so you will have no problem with access etc plus good opportunity to get in there with underseal and waxoil products around seams etc
  7. take photos and label every connection - masking tape and a sharpie. Take your time and you will have no issues, take the opportunity to clean / beef up all the earth points / leads
  8. Didnt mind Toyo T1R's however went from them to Conti Sport Contacts and found they were better in the wet and quieter, now 3 sets in and still happy with them.
  9. Completely agree - Globalisation has worked for large Corporations, Asia and parts of Africa but has crippled industry in the UK - now is a great opportunity to get the country back on its feet manufacturing and exporting as well as the option to buy UK goods Just need to avoid some classic British projects like the Allegro
  10. Def priced to sell - was looking at these the other day - @Tidgy's fault, post some photos in the thread as you know we all love a bit of colour then it may catch the eye of some casual browsers
  11. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to get stuck in, stacks of info on the forum and plenty of members willing to contribute knowledge, advice and varying levels of drivel
  12. it was UK hawk type D 5 speed vs Blob STI and Hatch STI - if that helps???
  13. Think if you search Gymkhana or Autotesting in the UK you may get what you are looking for?
  14. Have used 5 speed and 6 speed and whilst it felt 1st + 5th/6th in both was the same the ratios in between were closer on the 6 speed so it felt the engine was spinning up faster as it was easier to drive out of corners etc.
  15. There are a couple of winter tyre discussion threads with various views and opinions posted - might be worth a browse?
  16. Wotcha and welcome - must admit the blue over white look is growing on me
  17. Wotcha and welcome - quite a few Fozzie owners on here
  18. Wotcha and welcome - they do inspire confidence that is for sure
