  1. Wotcha and welcome - looking good!
  2. I dont know about the wheel base difference between fozzies and legacy / outbacks but the fozzies do have slightly better ground clearance over the outbacks but completely distracted now - looking at JDM twinscroll legacy imports with paddle shift and SI drive
  3. I have been keeping track of legacy / outbacks for all of your criteria - prefer the looks of the slightly older versions headlights example... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609298238921?model=LEGACY&postcode=dy116bx&sort=price-asc&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&make=SUBARU&radius=1500&page=3
  4. I wasn't planning a rebuild but was looking at an additional remap on top of the Prodrive flash it had received but I can say that each rev was used regularly and consistently in succession - none of the range were excluded
  5. There are a few of us on here who have or have had 2.5's with no issues but there have been failures
  6. Wotcha and welcome - I had no issues with the 2.5L model I had but some do suffer ringland failure. Forged pistons will ensure that does not happen
  7. its the engine layout being horizontal that doesn't help things but even with an NA the engine is still turning through the same rev range. I have had oil through breather hose on every motor / bike / van I have owned (the vito is terrible for it, you have to disconnect the intercooler hose and drain regularly) - think it must be the way I drive / ride Yes that is what the catch tank is used for. I personally will be mapping the car even though its an NA when I change the exhaust that way I will know everything is matched and fuelled spot on - should give a little better fuel economy as well as some improved response.
  8. The flat 4 is notorious for putting oil into the breathers - it may well be contributing to the colour of the plugs but also scoobs are set from the factory to run rich due to expectations of operating in a range of climates, temperatures, locations and fuel qualities Consider an air oil separator (AOS) breather kit - not too costly if you browse the evilbay for parts to make up the kit
  9. get the blob and put the hawk front end on it?
  10. Your car - paint em what you would like
  11. STI was Daphne, the RX is Delilah (Daphnes sister), when an STI turns up again Im pretty sure it will be named Daphne again
  12. love the gold black comb - JPS classic!
  13. this any good? https://www.gumtree.com/p/car-replacement-parts/subaru-legacy-outback-h6-3.0-est/1193018919
  14. Matt has raised an interesting point - not thought of that. If you did buy a turbo that needs work there is so much you can do to keep you occupied and put your own mark on it and you could still recover some of the cost (you will never recover all of it) something like this?? https://www.gumtree.com/p/subaru/subaru-impreza-wrx-/1195395877
