  2. not far off, type R and RA were suposedly 4.7 in stock form, iirc low 4's were reported by some magazines even in stock form.

  7. hmmm, good effort haha
  8. I was the same mate, i lasted 3 weeks before getting another one. trust me keep it :) needs be have some mods done lol
  9. no, no, no and and finally take yourself outside and have a word,,,
  10. So since getting the car back after the engine was sorted and mapped i've had a bit of a niggling issue. Every time you give it the full beans the cars wee's itself across the back window hahaha (Now im pretty sure its the car and not me anyway) Short version of the issue is the valve for the rear wash wiper isn't strong enough to hold the water flow when accelerating. So after having a chat with kev plan A is to wire in a old boost control solenoid in the wiring to open when the washer is activated. Not a major issue but thought it was amusing that the car was happy enough to wee itself with the new power hahahaha
  11. mid 20's :o your not trying hard enough,,,,,,,, hahahaha Echo whats been said above, regular oil changes (3k), keep on top of servicing, if an issue arises don't try to drive through it, drive very gently and off boost and get it looked at, and if you decide to mod it then find a decent tuner and stick with them, you'll get varying opinions of who's good and bad so its a bit of a mine field
  12. decat, refit ind kit if you want and map would be a good start point
  13. nice one guys
  14. ah k, i'd sell that and see what budget you have. Prices are all over the place at the min
  15. Wouldn't touch a 2.5 that hasn;t had the engine sorted out myself. Or if i did would budget 3k to get the engine done straight away. Do you have a budget in mind?
  16. Do you mean the tuning port? If so its just an interface device that flash's maps onto your car. Which for scoobs is a bad idea Bit pointless tbh, UK tends to have software such as ecutek that is custom mapped meaning its not needed.
  17. running in, 500 miles with !Removed! nasty mineral oil, 500 on semi synthetic, then change for full synthetic and map away at 1000 miles.

Cost involved wouldn't be worth doing IMO, your only talking an increase of about 10bhp over the td05 (assuming its a 16g) by swapping to VF34. cracking turbo VF34 though, had one on my old classic.
  19. ECU syvecs without doubt, turbo is a tough choice. What power you looking to run?
  20. Tidgy replied to Lewis's topic in General Subaru Chat
theres a company that keeps posting on here, $165 for one, always makes me think, holy cow thats gonna be crap lol
  21. Tidgy replied to Lewis's topic in General Subaru Chat
Depends which td05, there also pretty old tech now and alot of cheap fakes nocking around. plenty of different turbos are around that sort of mark.
  22. what turbo and ecu you gonna run?
  23. Tidgy replied to Lewis's topic in General Subaru Chat
Blob WRX according to the profile info :)

I was referring to the engine mods, Problem is it will be on a TD04, front mount will make it laggy (only combination that does genuinly cause noticeable lag no mater your setup) Existing Injectors won't be maxed even with the current turbo giving its absolute bollox. Standard air feed wouldn't be a limit with the current turbo either. Fuel pump is worth doing as well as decat but that will be enough to max out the turbo as it is. Simply put, most of the mods listed aren't gonna do anything much cos the turbo is the weak link, chuck a VF35 or even sc36 on it and then your in a different situation. Right now your wasting your money.
