Find a nice quiet road, drive in low revs in 3rd and floor it, when the turbo comes in if revs go up without accelerating you know the clutch is on its way out.

You'd be better off getting a proper rebuild.

As above, chuck it in the bank and spend it on something else. Subaru's get their power from turbo's so any gains when no turbo involved are minimal. option could be save and trade it in for a turbo model

Don't forget it will need mapping for the new turbo.

Bit laggier but got alot more top end basicly. Td04 has great spool but won't see above 290 on one so if you want more power bigger turbo is a must. Few different options depending on budget and goals though.
