  1. Personally i;d get the cambelt done, very easy to make em look good with an oily rag. Also its the tensioners that you need to worry about, they are the cause of failure 99% of the time cam belt is an issue. They are hydraulic and the seal goes meaning the belt looses tension and all hell breaks loose.
  2. what ya done to it?
  3. lmao :D i dont know how good the paddel shift on them is, the one on the M3 was a tad laggy (just like a typical auto) till you put it in sport mode and cranked it to setting 6 hahaha
  4. cool, when do you pick it up?
  5. forrester seems to have more toys, plus im not sure how good the lego is in the snow by comparison
  6. If you do go for it, make sure it has a proper CAT1 alarm fitted and has been under sealed. Also first thing i would do is as soon as you pick it up head straight to a specialist to get it given the once over and dyno'd to make sure its all running ok.
  7. relink it mate lol
  8. So, i posted a while back the volvo bust on me again. That's now fixed and touch wood (pats head), should keep going for a while (prob 12 months at most till i replace it). So it got me thinking. What next? I kinda have specific requirments, 1. Comfortable 2. enough power to sit on the motorway 3. cruise control 4. if seats are leather then they must be heated (i use the excuse of the mrs wont let me if not, but the truth is i dont want a cold **** on leather hahaha) 5. prefer AWD or FWD sinc eit will be all year round 6. reliable 7. mpg isn't that critical, i do about 40 miles a day which isn't much, 10k even if i did that every working day of every week in the year, which I don't. 8. cheap rat **** fuel So taking that into account i came up with this as a car to find when the time is right, http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201610178866695?radius=1500&maximum-mileage=80000&model=FORESTER&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&postcode=de59tu&make=SUBARU&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=price-asc&page=1 Always liked em, but never sat down and thought about it logically (always thought of the STI instead but then would need to worry about 99ron and the 2.5 issues). 2.0 non turbo engine which is pretty bomb proof. Well built and foresters are known for taking a pounding, plus being great in winter. Anyone else have any thoughts? other possibilities., i did ponder on a freelander 2 in another thread but they seem to suffer reliability and not cheap.
  9. hahaha, yeah seen that before, i find it epicly sad that its not far from the truth :(
  10. Whcih one was that?
  11. welcome.
  12. Welcome :)
  13. Gonna work out pricey i would have thought once you add on import tax and price of the pound etc. plus any issues an dyour gonna have a nightmare cos its was bought in the states Miltek do one now as well.
  14. get the front suspension checked out, maybe play in a bush somewhere causing it then.
  15. Welcome, great for when you need it eh ;)
  16. may have missed it, but have you had the tracking/alignment checked?
  17. and then not to be out done, http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201602060784861?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&price-to=10000&model=IMPREZA&radius=1500&price-from=8000&postcode=de59tu&advertising-location=at_cars&make=SUBARU&sort=price-asc&page=6

  19. hehe :D
  20. Just heard a box has arrived that looks to be the missing parts for mine :d so i warn you all now, im back in kid at christmas mode hahaha
  21. yeah tis pot luck. i know some that have had the living daylights thrashed out of them cos they were planning a rebuild anyway which havn't failed, yet some that are babied that have :S Seems to just be pot luck :(
  22. lmao, given how few that are actualy around to repair and service now you may have a point hahahaha
  23. All the 2.5 suffer from it, even the newest model (despite what some people claim, clinic hav already had 3 2015+ cars in with ring land/headgasket failures). Also seems to make no difference regarding tune. Exact numbers are unknown, but its very common indeed.
  24. It's up for 9 isnt it? i just cant get my mind off the 2,5 issue tbh, i;d wanna sort the rods, pistons head studs out straight away which would work out roughly 4k + vat
  25. yeah they are matey, if you read the post before i edited re read, had it in me brain it was a 2.5 lol
