Yeah the gc8 mate, i used the lift at work so that might of made the job a bit easier,if your doing it from above then the battery and washer bottle would probs have to come out for access, i used a spark plug socket and a really short extension so that when attached they were basically flush with the rocker cover then managed to get my ratchet on, then a few turns and they were finger tight, removed the ratchet and unscrewed them with the socket and extension then opposite way to put them back in, bit they are a pita sometime you just have to stand back with a brew, swear a few times then try again 😂, you'll get there it is possible haha

Lol Thanks, yes removed the water reservoir and Battery. Will give it another try though & along with Stant's suggestion.

As a side question, bolts in the engine are rather rusty, the first bolt I unscrewed from the reservoir snapped.  Would you have any recommendations on engine dress up bolts and the suppliers?

cheers

Try these mate, I've used them before and seemed good quality - http://www.tegiwaimports.com/select-car/subaru/classic-impreza/dress-up/tegiwa-engine-bay-bolts-washers.html

Ive just ordered my cover, £190.00 down 😭. Got a all singing and dancing Stormforce one with alarm and lock kit just in case. Bought one of the expensive ones due to what I've heard about the cheaper ones trapping moisture and scratching paint in the wind. Couldn't stretch to the full blown £280 top of line one though unfortunately. Hopefully got a good balance between quality and cost still. Took a lot more research for a cover than I expected lol.

Re plugs I found a spark plug socket attached to a 3/8" to 1/2" reducer fits perfectly 😉

I gaffer taped them together to stop them parting company after spending 20 mins trying to remove a spark plug socket after fitting my 1st plug [emoji53]

Haven't driven mine in about a fortnight, it's been sat there covered in dust while I've been laying a patio and cutting slabs [emoji57] 0fbdc3cecf8da1efb1ed2655d11b6793.jpg

I think that's what my toolkit is missing tbh...the converter/adaptor/reducer.

I will not let those darn plugs get me down :)

Day 5 Progress from yesterday drilled the mounting points for the 3 port catch can, secured it then connected up the 3 ports and directed the breather underneath the car, still awaiting a new intercooler hose set but got impatient and wanted to test fire up the car so built the majority back up to test and found the fuel injector by the airbox is leaking so need to see if the seals are damaged or whether it just needs reseating correctly then will check again if the car will fire up

Was just speaking with @Hudson, he's going to andy F on the 29th, maybe we could persuade him to stop by and we could all meet up after he's been tuned?

Day8 progress: Absolutely chuffed, bar a few seized bolts on the old turbo and exhaust that I needed a hand getting off it's all my own work and it's now ready to go to Andy Forest for mapping! Over the moon it's all running ok. It's been a busy weeks work.

Picture below of it stripped out last week and the end result!

Well, I'm sending the Japspeed decat back! Found a bargain that was listed a day after and managed to get a full 3" Cobra system with decat for £200! 😬

Oh and these turned up the other day at my parents! They look alright, just hope the fitment is good! Not bad for $32.99!

For the time you would spend cleaning it and the cost of a Cosworth filter I would replace it - actually thinking about not sure you can clean the Cossie ones.

The FPR does not look like a SARD - however have you got a higher shot of your bay as it may somewhere else (unlikely though as it would stand out)

Found the Sard...opposite side of the bay oddly enough near intake pipe.
