  1. Are there bubbles in the overflow when idling? Was it a Subaru OEM stat you put in? How's the radiator cap and are the fans coming on?
  2. OK. Standard OBD code readers generally read engine codes but not necessarily transmission codes. I use Freessm which does TCM codes as well. I assume the tranny is a 4EAT which likely takes when full nearer to 10 litres if it's got a transmission cooler. Assume you're checking levels with engine running in neutral? Maybe someone else with more experience on Foresters can chime in.
  3. Firstly there may/should be a code so if you have a code reader that an access TCM that will point to the likely suspect. Secondly, how much fresh tranny fluid have you used in the change thus far? A simple drain and fill only gets a portion of it. Thirdly, I assume the fluid level is OK?
  4. I believe the change took effect (higher tax bracket applies) for cars registered after 23 March 2006.
  5. Check if there's oil down that plug tube. Those seals are a source of problems sometimes.
  6. Plenty of ways. Simplest is using toothpaste or brasso and soft cloth. Halfrauds sell kits too.
  7. Welcome!!
  8. Check the alignment.
  9. If it's an auto, is it fully in neutral? May also be low battery (car).
  10. Good to hear job done.
  11. Anything to do with phone pairing?
  12. Latest thought - could it be a speed warning? Like, going over 70?
  13. OK, next try, perhaps seat belt warning? Lane departure (if fitted)? Assume no warning lamps. and no mention of this in the manual (I've little experience with diesels, DPF etc).
  14. It's not your dash cam telling you it's memory full is it?
  15. Sounds like battery problems to me. How old is the battery? Are the battery connections and all grounds nice and clean and tight?
  16. You'll need a bit more detail to get folks interested, like price for instance.
  17. Seems a good price for a good looking car. Good luck with the sale. If I didn't have mine, would be seriously interested.
  18. Prices,interested in the exhaust?
  19. Check this ad for a 2000 Subaru! Note - I have no connection to this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/subaru/263442890770?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49129%26meid%3D572fe2893fd74ba3b7844bfca616c0b5%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D282812925845&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  20. Nice! Welcome.
  21. I think just one.
  22. I trust the timing belt hasn't gone something like jump tooth or gone completely. Is it overdue a new belt?
  23. Good to hear.
  24. Subaru dealer should be able to provide the 4 digit code if it's a standard UK Sigma alarm. Just prove to them you're the owner (V5 etc). On the current problem, try disconnect the car battery for about 30 minutes. If the alarm sounds immediately, try the remote button (may help if it's close to the car). If no alarm sound, depress the brake pedal a couple of times to bleed any residual current, then reconnect the car battery. Then try the key button,
