Wotcha and welcome - echo TLag - without pictures it isnt true :D you could get a full stainless system from these people http://www.haywardandscott.com/subaru/legacy.html http://www.longlife.co.uk/stainless-steel-exhausts/ http://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/

can u take a look please.
I would go for the bailey - they wont do any damage but some cars don't like dump valves so dont run as well. The HKS looks like it needs a good service anyway so that would mean more money - also I cannot tell from the pictures if it is genuine or not so I would avoid

New Member. UK STI Prodrive (dump valve/exhaust)
n not necessarily - you can replace the cat with a sports cat which will improve performance over standard - the prodrive pack exhaust part will just be the back box. for sound only go for cat back with the exhaust you are looking at in the link there will be less sound deadening than the prodrive. As you have the turbo anything after it in the exhaust is all about emissions and noise level (NA cars are more sensitive to bore, length and bends in the pipe).

so wrt the dump valves you tube is your friend as people have clips of the sound they make eg you should not lose performance dependant on the pipe you replace it with - so if you went for a standard impreza pipe that would be more restrictive than the prodrive option but by removing the cat and fitting an equal bore pipe you should gain as the restriction from the cat is no longer there and if you go for something like the afterburner extreme that has no back box either so there is no restriction at all to gas flow http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_53&products_id=1480 A cat back pipe of equal bore size should give you at least the same performance as you have now

Wotcha and welcome awesome car, I would suggest a HKS dump valve as you can have a few different options for sound produced (watch out for copies though) http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/Dump_Valves.html check out these exhaust options and removing the cat should get you more db's http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/New_Age__01-07__-t.html http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_156

Why can't I see certain parts of forum
No it should only be mods and boxed section that you have restricted access to - we have had issues like this before 1st questions asked are, what browser are you using and are you logged in?

Manual boost controller
Wotcha and welcome - by doing this you may well be hiding a real issue - I would find out if it is the 3 port at fault first

what is better?
agree with TLag - stick with 95 ron and go for the filter... and then an exhaust, and then a new fuel pump and then injectors and then a bigger turbo and then a remap and theeeeen you go for the V power :D dont forget the photos ;)

Engine model?
I only ever heard that in relation to Lancia Delta Integrale engines - I would get a second opinion.

'12 STI/Cosworth running costs
Ringland failure is what happens to the piston due to use of rubbish fuel and or lots of high revs on the original subaru map (I believe it ran too lean at the top end in No. 4 pot) scroll down to Salsas post on the first page for a picture of the piston failure, obviously if not addressed this leads to burnt oil, bore scoring etc http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4804-what-fuel-do-you-put-in/
