  1. Can completely empathise with that - but all come together in the end
  2. As above - a proper map will be matched to your car exactly not a generic solution - they can also put in antilag, FFS and downshift blip but not sure about LC?
  3. good idea - will do that to mine I think 🙂
  4. Wotcha and welcome - hopefully someone will be along with a recommendation - all the ones I know are further afield
  5. yup headlight removal is the way to go - I didnt and nicked the bumper 🙃
  6. Wotcha and welcome - plenty of experience on this forum and all friendly - feel free to get stuck in
  7. nice one!
  8. Yup used KYB shocks before plus my lad running the KYB / Eibach combo on his colt - much improved over standard
  9. Everyone has to start somewhere - The major challenge will be ensuring you dont screw up the timing but there are videos online to sort that. I dont think you have the belt guide on a 2.0NA so no chance of you rubbing your belt away due to incorrect postioning. Take your time and take photos along the way
  10. Wotcha and welcome - as above, it is better to sell and buy a manual
  11. Wotcha and welcome - apologies I will not be able to help as I will too far away this week - hopefully someone may be able to help out
  12. Today in an effort to get more access to the top of the block to remove oil I poured this from my reservoir tank - not happy And dropped the fluid from the radiator
  13. Good luck with the sale 👍
  14. Great info - very useful to know thanks
  15. Manifold is unequal and it does give the burble - this will be retained 👍 Ill follow up with Alyn - cheers
  16. Thanks - ill check those and replace all the washers, I have a new oil feed line coming from HEL as I learnt the hard way with my 200sx eating turbos due to feed line being partially blocked by cooked oil.
  17. That is a steal - hopefully someone will snap it up
  18. Lovely looking motor - surprised it has not gone
  19. Great looking car - what is the price?
  20. dont know - only found it when car was on the ramp, will reassemble with a bit of exhaust sealant and replace wrapping with a blanket then I can pretend its fine.... Looked at a one piece replacement and fell into the upgrade spiral..... Oh there is a bigger diameter option, Well I will need the manifold to match, Well it makes more financial sense to buy as a set, Whats a rotated / twisted turbo setup..... Conclusion - live with current setup for the moment and shopping list has been amended 😁
  21. try these guys for a price https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-SUBARU-IMPREZA-WRX-2-5-PETROL-HINGE-BREAKING-SPARES/163264575982?hash=item260353b9ee:g:oc0AAOSw8PRboLmf
  22. With car on ramp through the crumbling heat wrap you could see exhaust deposits - pulled it off to do a bit of welding and found this - yup that would blow a little 😀 New blanket on shopping list
  23. Done about 2k with the car now and its clear its been sat for some time as there are a few things that need attention - one of them is teh black stuff on teh drive that is supposed to be on the inside of the engine cases..... The first one was the oil pressure sensor mount that had come loose - cleaned, thread locked and tightened should sort that - now I have to find the other. I ended up pulling the turbo off to access the many plugs behind it but it looks like it is coming from the top of the engine and flowing down the back. What are the potential points of leakage I should be looking for as I pull off the pipework - hoping its a breather that has come off 🐵
  24. I think the manual says 50K I did my last car at 40K and have my current one booked in to do it at 39K but that is partly piece of mind as it is an unbranded belt that I do not know the history of and given the royal spanking the motor will get in the near future I dont want to be concerned about the basics
  25. check for play in joints as suggested then get an alignment check done - check tyre pressures also - too high and this will cause them to slide and spin up easier
