  1. 2.5 tuned right won't increase the risk if failure up to mid 300's. They have a high failure rate even left alone. Beyond that your pushing the limit, sti's don't have proper forged pistons any more, the rods won't take much more than 400 so 350 your Into forging territory.
  2. i'd leave the front alone and upgrade the rear on it, not 100% sure on the standard size on a hatch, sure somene will be along to tell you. doing the rear helps with canceling some fo the understeer, so if you do both you balance it out rather than correcting it.
  3. welcome. would of thought a decent local retrimmer could do it for you?
  4. welcome 🙂
  5. i know scoobyclinic fit perrin ones. they are a different fitment i believe
  6. Welcome. Rust will be a big concern on cars that age. Rear arches are highly likely to be on the way out. Bear in mind they rot from the inside out so if any is visible then alot will be hidden behind it, don't be fooled by someine claiming it's only the odd bubble of surface rust.
  7. 2.5 hg is a full rebuild job. Anyone saying anything else I would question their knowledge.
  8. its a bit of a band aid over a massive gash. I still stick with my comments about dumping most fo the rules
  9. welcome
  10. sounds like headgasket 😞 as soon as you put any boost on water gets blown through, so while off boost wont be anythign happening, assuming im reading hte symptoms correctly. have a sniff test done and see what the results are
  11. Tbh I'm not convinced, they will still be reliant on aero instead of mechanical grip.
  12. Welcome
  13. Forza for me all day long. Although car selection on gran tourismo was always better, mainly cause it had about 30 different scoobs haha
  14. Welcome, I loved my type r 🙂
  15. Make mishimoto look like cheap tat, but you won't get much change from £1700 for a perrin one.
  16. Welcome
  17. as said, if your replacing the pistons and rods then may as well get the 2.1 kit, only difference it the crank. there's no repalcement for displacement as they say
  18. Welcome
  19. its alwyas hard to tell on vids, but it doent sound too much to worry about
  20. Always advisable to remap an import, need to run it on 99ron, vpower or Tesco. Best bet give a tuner a ring and have a chat with them, they will be able to advise on how to go about it and costs
  21. Changing the exhaust will change how it sounds not just the volume level, so it Sounds like your just getting more noise from the turbo. If its been checked out then I would assume that's what it is and just keep on ear on it to see if it changes.
  22. You mean I haz the power 😮 haha, thanks for the vote of confidence.
  23. welcome 🙂
