  1. just to add a slight correction, it was my old type r that had ap's, my current car is on brembo's with uprated pads, and given the extra weight between the two they are a bit meh, bear in mind i am running 380/390 and aiming higher and even on a road car the current setup just wont be up to it. price isn't as much as you think, https://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/impreza-1993-1998-wrx/218-impreza-classic-newage-wrx-ap-6-pot-330mm-kit-.html £1700 https://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/impreza-1993-1998-wrx/292-subaru-impreza-ap-6-pot-355mm-kit-.html £1800 although it isn't with proper AP disks. Given the power levels being talked about, i expect the 330mm kit will be plenty although your only talking £100 difference i'd personally go for the larger ones anyway (check wheel fitment), RCM do em at £2500 for 355 kit. alcon kit is slightly cheaper. https://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/store/product/732-rcm-alcon-6-pot-front-brake-kit-black-343mm £2200 tbh its something i wanna look into as its on my to buy list.
  2. i dont tend to drive my car from the outside or passenger side tbh,,,,,, hahaha
  3. personally i wouldn't want to loose the vent, but i like my creature comforts hahaha
  4. piston slap isnt needed to be cured, it's just a natural result of putting forged pistons in it, If your worried about it get it checked out by a specialist.
  5. are you sure its not piston slap your hearing?
  6. after having subaru road cars with and without, i would have for sure, standard brakes are pish by comparison
  7. idealy you wanna fit it and do as little milage as possible, but leave the actuator disconnected and keep the revs below 3k and should be ok.
  8. just get a set of ap 6 pots wuth ap dishs and decent pads, not cheap but as good as you'll ever need
  9. i would suggest you create a new post and give some more details as to where etc
  10. Is it the right thickeness headgasket? has it stuffed up the comrpession? can you get it on a dyno and diagnose whats going on?
  11. sounds like the offset on the wheels is wrong and its catching the arch on lock

  14. yeah hybrids can be a total unknown second hand. sounds like it worked in your favour though haha
  15. This. the rest of the car bar the engine is pretty good.
  16. type r has dccd, two doors as you say, shorter ratio gearbox. type r also has no abs. Higher rev limit. basicly its alot more raw than even the sti. of the two, i'd get a type r every time, which i did haha
  17. looks good mate, must be pretty much nearly there now?
  18. sorry didnt realise you were still looking or i would have said lol
  19. not so in practise, the change to roller bearings mroe than makes up for it, my 34 considerably outspooled 35's on other cars with same spec. Although with the caviat different cars react differently and i never tried a 35 on mine. For the price of a new 34 your nocking on the door of an sc36 which will outspool and outpeak both, really depends on how much you want to spend. on a stock wrx motor i'd say stick with a 35 as the price is alot cheaper and isn't gonna push it beyond the limit of the box and engine.
  20. that things is about 10k over priced, its just a bodykitted 2001 wrx 😮
  21. welcome. Check to see what engine work its had, the 2.5's are known to suffer ringland and headgasket failures.
  22. i couldn't resist 😄 hahahaha
  23. depends if hes managed to clear all the brown stuff out of his suit fromt he other year or not,,,, hahahaha
