noobie advice
Hello welcome, Strictly not necessary to cool down as the turbo should be water and oil cooled, good practice to do it though, drive off boost for the last couple of miles and just let the car idle for a minute when you stop, let it all cool down, No idea about the alternator, although I presume it just charges the battery at required intervals as opposed to constantly. Easiest way to buy stuff for your car will be by the nickname given to the front end, classic bugeye , blobeye hawkeye etc. I presume yours is a hawk ? Bob's are a matter of preference some have problem with aftermarket ones other do not, I'd wait for someone with same car to give a more definitive answer

Maybe changed for a cheap alternative to a map. When you say v5 ecu is that the ecu sticker or version impreza it came out of ?

Lol too funny ! You know why it's had a repayment ecu ? Could be a ground or something as daft ad that, did you reset the ecu after the temp sensor change ?

my foz
Yes appears to be, not had chance to do more than about a 5 mile journey at any point this week so not had chance to see if I can tell the difference in claimed spool up increase but it's keeping the turbo hot and engine bay cool, I can touch everything around the turbo and blanket.

It's doing my head in only when I turn right and over some bumps but not others [emoji35] it's on a 1st gen foz so essentially an impreza lol. Hopefully it will cure it once and for all,

How do I diagnose this knock
I've changed springs struts topmount's and droplinks still get it so it's either the arb bush (on order) or the shims & clips on the pads missing and the bads are moving slightly on low speed braking

Rear shocks for an STi
I've a pedders kit on my sf. Well priced and since August no problems, can't really tell you how different they are to standard as mine were completely dead, I imagine they'd be a little too soft for the sti as Mr b says. They do do sti kits. May be worth speaking to them if you have no joy with the kyb's

question for blobeye owners mostly
It's not the driveshaft catching the top of the exhaust ? I replaced a hanger rubber on my mazda and the new one just brought it into alignment with the shaft where it joins the diff, only ever caught and made a horrible noise when I set off up hill.

blobeye R.I.P! help with advice.......
Try www.importcarparts.co.uk they have all the necessary bits to rebuild, they also sell short motors. Failing that if it's to expensive you could always get one from a breakers but then you run the risk of the same happening
