  1. Wotcha and welcome - hopefully one of the members can help out
  2. sounds like the internal themosat has gone
  3. Installed my own but ebay has many options for aftermarket - not sure what yours looks like but is that a possiblity - start at £6.00
  4. Wotcha and welcome - Nokian have had good reviews from members on here who have used them
  5. Depends on your tool box - exhaust is a straight forward modification a few nuts and bolts and wrestling with the rubber hangers (a pot of red grease helps here)
  6. Hi - I have zero experience with this so only shareing opinion based upon contribution to this forum. The subaru diesels suffer from issues, bearing failures etc for example - this is on the standard tune as is so if you were to consider anything more than standard I would look to blueprint the engine get everything balanced and lined up correctly
  7. The CS400 Cosworth uses forged internals to get to circa 395bhp over the 330s 340 ltd models, none forged but max 340 is really as much as you want to test those. I believe your car currently sits at 296Bhp so your immediate options are ECUTEK remap, cat back exhaust, hi flow panel filter (Suggest uprated fuel pump optional) will give you about 340bhp with launch control & antilag. This will give you an idea of the chassis performance with the additional power - I believe you will find it soft, front end will lift under acceleration and there will be quite a bit of body roll on the corners. Steering is not the quickest on your steering rack and as you start to get a shift on you will be crossing your arms more at teh wheel - look to replace the rack with a 15+ STI item You could then look at the chassis, when that can handle the 340bhp how you like - look to the engine As Tidgy said you are looking at a full tear down, replace the bearings, rods, pistons, head gasket and bolts. You will need to uprate the fuel pump and the injectors - an FPR to maintain the right pressure is essential. A turbo which can shift the extra air required as the standard one wont go that high. More air in = more air out - the standard exhaust is restrictive so look at a turbo back option with or without sport cat An aftemarket ECU with associated sensors will help pull the solution together plus the chassis mods you may want to particularly dependant on what you would like to use the car for - track days etc, build on road friendly changes that can handle the 340bhp I dont know what power your semi auto box can handle though? Buuuut then you could go for a sequemtial item and retain your paddle shift What ever you decide - feel free to create a build thread so we can follow etc
  8. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted 😉
  9. Wotcha and welcome - Plenty of GC8 fans / owners on here, plenty of experience - feel free to get stuck in posting build threads etc
  10. Wotcha and welcome - We have a few members from Scotland on here, feel free to get stuck in create build / project threads ask questions etc, all friendly
  11. ....ahhhhh..... So a helmet for xmas then 😉?
  12. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted
  13. Wotcha and welcome - Plenty of experience on here unfortunately when related to diesels it is not good so unless your aviation experiments are related to parachute or ejector seats I might consider another solution. They suffer from several issues bearing failure etc. I do like the subaru brand but they do not do a good diesel solution unfortunately. But feel free to start a build thread and post questions etc
  14. Somebody went home and kicked the dog 😁 The first but I am sure not the last 😉
  15. Wotcha and welcome - Unfortunately Subaru do not do a great diesel engine, bearing failures are a regular occurance due to gearbox / crank misaligment - I would look for a petrol option if possible
  16. A price and some photos normally help a sale - GLWTS 👍
  17. Next up assembly of the twin injectors. Fuji Racing standard 550's as primaries, this should mean no lumpy idle or hesitation whilst driving at low revs. Injector Dynamics 1700's as the secondaries so on max chats we should be feeding with the flow capability of 2200's hmmm that isn't going to fit.... ahhhh so those red things are held on by the spring clip and can be removed (Thanks to Martyn @Enginetuner) Sad but I did like the look of the Radium finish with the four injectors visible 🙄
  18. Wotcha and welcome - I dont have experience with anything as new as that myself but feel free to take some photos and post a question thread in the general or outback sections, all friendly on here
  19. Agree with the OEM approach - maintain the stealth, the toucan is probably the way to go 👍
  20. Wotcha and welcome - as above could be a number of things so if you can get some codes that will help this is what I use https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-ODB-ODB2-V2-1-Advanced-Bluetooth-Car-Auto-Diagnostic-Scanner-Tool-Ku/223293585680?hash=item33fd55b910:g:LgYAAOSwkNFcXFYz
  21. Just had mine done - Exedy pink box and standard flywheel, billet oil separator & Piston Pin cover replacement (Fuji Racing) plus gearbox shaft & crank seals replaced which I supplied myself - they dropped the gearbox to do mine. £350 for labour and road test
  22. Wotcha and welcome - I would suggest a post in the Impreza section
