Fitted a fuel neck filler to the impreza, it's up for sale so bought a brand new one as if I wss keeping the car, like to sell what I would buy, and then washed it after. Will be posting an add soon it is on eBay guys, it is a very very clean classic btw. 57k!! Going to miss it.

Back to the fuel neck filler, one subaru specialist in Bradford (not giving names) had told us that the suspension would need dropping to do, (scaremongering). If anyone needs to do this on a classic GC8, it is very easy, take the wheel off for more access. 3 bolt/screws when the flap is open. Jubilee clip connected to tank, loosen and it will slide out of a rubber piece. Coming down from the pipe it connects to what I think is an overflow rubber pipe, similar clip here loosen and remove and put back on the new part. It took me about an hour with a little help and advice from Father and uncle. There is a plastic cover covering this and we ended up removing cos tbh it's pretty useless. I would if I was keeping for many years if you have time throw some paint on the new pipe to extend it's life.

Bought of eBay from "Sprint Hare JDM", like for like, came after 1 day very happy with the service and would use them again.

I'll got a squeaking when starting the engine from cold. Sounds like a belt or something, tends to go away within 10-15secs of pulling off.

Any ideas?

Yep, cold times!

My Jags just started.  You should be able to localise the sound stood in front of it.  I have some belt slip spray which does the job for a while.

If you want horrible loud noises and lots of wincing come stand next to mine, left it outside overnight at the folks on friday, started her up 'just' sat afternoon, que 5mins of horrendous slap, took me 8 miles of normal driving for the oil and water to get up to normal operating temp [emoji22] half I have a garage, only sounded like metal on metal for about 3 mins this morning [emoji23]

What turbo have you fitted matt ?

I've been pulling my turbo to bits [emoji15]

So I can drill and tap new holes for the actuator bracket now I've clocked the coldside [emoji6]

just a vf35 mate

Think they're based on a tdo5 16g, so once it's mapped in , you'll have to let me know whether you prefer the bigger punch from the journal core compared to the slightly quicker spool of the vf34's roller bearing core

we had a play with map last night and its only a little bit off, we had slight det but nothing major !

I cleaned my car inside and out on thursday :). Then drove down to coventry Friday which meant it was mucky inside and out again :(. Drove back on sunday, these 3 days I'm driving to leyland for first aid training. So the car has been doing motorway miles, lots of mucky spray! lol.

Do enjoy the pull in 5th gear though, from 80mph it just goes and goes! Seems to boost at 1.1 bar in 5th and only 5th which I find weird but not complaining.
