The blocking bits allow you to remove it and not leave holes. I know they are not near you but for advice maybe phone Sheffield Subaru Services (Martin) or TDR Warwick and get a different view.

Hmmm I would question that as it has nothing to do with a turbo system. It is controlled by the ECU which holds the map information - Having a Turbo is irrelevant. N/A's can be remapped however in this case it is more about disabling a function not remapping the ECU
  3. Depends what you are looking for in terms of sound, noise level and performance. I have run Prodrive backbox with standard system - nice not too loud but a little restrictive Straight through system with Milltek back box - better performance and a little deeper and louder Cobra system and back box, same performance as Milltek but louder. Will potentially switch one or the other for an Invidia system to match an Invidia rotated setup. Spend some time on youtube to get ideas for sound. Cobra is very good value for money / quality solution though
  4. Not come across bad reviews from PP so you should be in good hands
  5. As above do you want to keep it standard for investment or invest to get slightly more performance and peace of mind for reliability knowing it has all been sorted

As above these https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=14105&cat=3678&sub=0&sec=0&var=0&dc=&gen=0&searchKey=&searchPart= plus a map to remove error
  7. Hi - I looked into this for my own, a breaker will be your first most economical approach (and where I ended up) Subaru had zero stock listed for the part number so I could not buy new even if I wanted to. Bespoke is great but you mentioned not wanting to put too much money into the motor due to changing in the not too distant future. Note the foam and plastics attached to the carpet is part of it - you cannot buy any pieces individually. WRX and WRX STI carpets and seats will fit in your motor. There are black and dark grey colour options that I know of - maybe more as I do not know what is in the blue models
  8. That underside looks in really good shape
  9. Here is some information - the ABS sensor is on the wheel but the speed sensor is on the gearbox, they can be tricky to get out as well because the plastic goes brittle. I wouldn't know if it has impacted the Hi Lo function but it would not surprise me https://www.engine-codes.com/p0500_subaru.html
  10. There is no flap next to the fuel flap release, its all electric, no cables Should be a button on the hatch tail gate itself, in the middle above number plate in between the two number plate lights
  11. Yes hoping its enough to keep the pots fed at 8500 - 8600 rpm - as in theory according to the gearbox ratios I should be doing 200mph
  12. I have converted my hatches to x2 reverse lights relocating the fog lights to the bumper add in cree led 20w units and it makes reversing a little easier
  13. Apparently, according to certain sites on the line, its not about the length more the girth. So reverse manifold setup - shorter tubing but larger diameter bore. 😁
  14. Hi - the older diesels tend to be more reliable that the new ones, what is the issue?
  15. As above - belt would be the first place i would look, check your fluid levels whilst you are there as well
  16. As above - a straight forward job and the switch is a good idea so you dont leave something plugged in and drain the battery for the cig lighter. The Radio should already have a perm 12v supply so you could jumper across from that
  17. Great feedback and useful to know - hopefully more people will benefit from this, thanks for sharing
  18. As above I would look to get one made which will probably be a lower cost option
  19. I have seen a couple of people on Facebook referring to the difference between wrx hatch and wrx sti hatch as a narrow and widebody
  20. Agree with the wind deflectors, found they restricted visibility too much on my hatch particularly when going around islands, also PIAA wipers are always my first mod on any new to me car as they just work so much better that oem wipers
  21. is the car standard? If so people like admiral will be able to provide a quote, not standard you need to look at brokers which means spending some time on the phone.
