Chip, remap Legacy 2.0i - possible?
Easiest way is to drive like a granny, but that's impossible ! Is yours a n/a car ? Pretty much a waste of money for a remap as Jay says the gains would be minimal vs cost. Try using v power or a high Ron fuel it may cost a little extra every time you fill up but I found I was getting 20mpg more in my n/a car Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Need guidance on this project please!
That's very cheap, mine was 235 from ipc new, the Roger Clark price seems good, I'd go brand new from a reputable source as you'll only end up spending more in the long run if you bought 2nd hand or cheap copy Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Constant running fan!

Coolant?
7's would be better if your having the map With regards to coolant types, just about every coolant is nap free these days, but I'd stick to an organic type as ethylene glycol coolants tend to eat water pump impellers after a while, As for the flushing I just stick a hosepipe in the header tank and let it run for 10 mins with the bottom hose disconnected, never had any problems. Subaru coolant is quite hard to come by these days my local dealer didn't have it when I enquired they just said analysis decent long life one would be OK Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

What would you spend your ÂŁ1k on?
Dyno, check fueling is OK as jap maps are really aggressive timing wise. Then the world's your lobster Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Water temp sensor location
It's in the water cross over pipe underneath the intake manifold, if you remove the alternator you should be able to see it, There's two one for the ecu and one for the dash display Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

New WRX Owner - Missfire when cold problem
The o2 sensor is about 4" back from the hotside of the turbo. If it's shagged you may just get the odd cel come up then go away same with the knock sensor. I'd start with the cheapest option of maybe looking at the condition of the plugs before changing anything more costly, www.importcarparts.co.uk is your best bet for genuine subaru sensors Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

computer management software for 1997 8s ecu and another Q
Well the thing is the evo scan software needs a cable which unless you are any good at making them up you'll need to order from them, no problem I hear you say, trouble is they are based in NZ and it takes about 4 weeks to arrive, You do get a discount if you but the cable and software together. If you were closer you could borrow mine but it's a bit of a drive I think. Oh and I was late for work so legged it out the house and forgot laptop so I'll have a go tomorrow for you Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Www.evoscan.com is your best bet for (cheap) monitoring. I'll run mine on the way to work grab some shots for you, can't map or anything but it's useful to see if all present and correct. You'd need to buy an esl board direct from.them with cable if you want to be able to map &log properly Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
