They are not but takes a fair few miles for the ECU to 'learn' the drop in octane - It may not just be the drop in octane though that is affecting the performance - I have noticed increased amounts of Ethanol being included in pump fuel now
  2. Fingers crossed for you!!
  3. The mic in mine is wired in as part of a hands free telephone kit - I do not know if this activates the bluetooth element or not sorry. WRT the screen & RCA I can connect an audio device via a convertor and after you have select aux as an input you then select the info button on the right hand side to get the mpg back on the screen

Seen this all over social media - Great that the chap survived, only watched footage on my phone so cannot call too much on reasoning, distraction etc but I agree the conditions and the road etc all look perfectly manageable - looking at the footage though I didn't think the corner as that 'blind' but it is easy to be the arm chair commentator. The driver got a stiff sentence - justifiable - It makes even more of a mockery of the sentences dished out to the car and bike thieves we appear to be plagued with currently
  5. I have received no additional response form Scooby Clinic. They have already formal stated any liability is between myself and the dealer so I know it will definitely be down to me to address. I had spoken to the dealer before xmas and shared my expectations of him in this instance which would be cost of labour for the rebuild and cost of a new set of Cosworth or equivalent capable head gaskets - This I thought was fair. I will be getting a quote for the rebuild labour sent so I can have that discussion with him outside of the rest of the build communications.
  6. There is a reason for that - once open exposure to the atmosphere means it will start absorbing moisture. Two bottles will be enough but if you get 3 and you only open one at a time so your waste is reduced and you have some for the future. OPIE oils Miller 5.1 use the SUBOC discount code for 10% - sorted 👍 (I used Shell for years as I trusted it with my bikes - now use Millers where possible as a UK manufacturer)
  7. This is very important as Dot 5 is silicone and does not mix well with some components, predominantly more modern stuff (used a lot in pre 50's classics) - worse case I heard of was seals swelled effectively seizing the pistons in the calipers - result no brakes!!
  8. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted of your progress 👍
  9. Hi do you not have mpg displayed in the small unit above the touch screen towards the windscreen? Bluetooth is for phone connection only on this model with various interfaces for external units eg ipod or RCA as you have - do you also have the multi cd player under the drivers seat?

Wotcha and welcome - I also have an RX, The daft thing is the WRX is slightly more economical on the old petrol but you have less moving parts so less to go wrong. Feel free to post pictures etc all friendly on here
  11. Continuing with the surge tank installation - bits arrived to plumb into existing system

Wotcha and welcome - Not sure about the rolling radius impact that my cause your diff to suffer. Would you consider going down a wheel size then the tyre wall would be the size you require with no risk of rubbing
  13. Wotcha and welcome, plenty of fozzie love on here, feel free to get stuck in, all friendly
  14. as above - plus take the opportunity to flush through with dot 5.1 fluid better temp performance and absorption tolerance than dot 4. Consider changing the brake lines if over 10 years old - even if braided. Use small pieces of rolled up paper towel to get fluid out of the bleed nipple before putting the cap back on. consider replacing bleed nipples with stainless steel items
  15. Wotcha and welcome - WRT Picture a where you have the hole in teh blue body work you may have a blac plastic tab from the liner sat on top that should be underneath (visible) in the photo. This would then have a black plastic plug in it. It looks very similar to my impreza setup of which I can get a photo at the weekend. WRT picture b - the holes are there for flaps but mine were not filled by plugs even though flaps not fitted. IMO I like the rally armour product, I went for the OEM moulded fit option which are a lot more robust than the genuine subaru items and fit very well - word of warning trapping them between a curb and you rear wheel when reversing will rip your liner out before it damages the flaps 😁
  16. Hi I managed to get the pin code confirmed from my local Subaru dealership (with x2 forms of photographic ID and the V5), fortunately it had not been changed Pin entry should be a straight punch in the number to disable - no symbols # etc before or after
  17. Hi Steering will be heavy as there is no assistance- welcome to the 70's 😊. Yes sourcing a hydraulic setup will work but it is a bit more than a rack. you will need pump, belt, hoses, reservoir as well
  18. That was me - yes that is true plus the additional piece that it lets air in really fast so if you are lying under it when you loosen the lower bolt it pours out a lot quicker 😁
  19. Welcome back 😊
  20. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to get stuck in, post questions, photos etc all friendly on here 😊
  21. think mine states - 1.5, 2.0, 2.5t as the models covered but 2.0 and 2.5t were the same quantity
  22. Wotcha and welcome - As it did not gradually fail but worked intermittently this sounds more electrical to me - pull the door panel, check the switch connections and cables going through the door plus connections to the motor. A 12v supply directly to the motor connections will rule the motor out and a multi meter or 12v light on a wire to earth on one side of the switch with a 12v live to the other side will tell you if the switch is faulty. The same 'flying lead' (with light) connected between the 12v supply and a bare metal connection to the car (door frame etc) will tell you if you have a 12v supply in place
  23. I only needed one bottle when I did my 08+ hatches but it is in the owners manual
  24. No, just decent oil
  25. If the car is standard I would recommend a remap that is bespoke to your motor (not a £30 ECU flash) anyway as there are midrange gains and fuel economy (only a couple of mpg but every little helps) to be had.
