  1. Your gonna get issues now and again no mater who you are, I can accept that, its how you deal with them that sets you apart. Everytime his name is mentioned on SN people come out with complaints about him. Given you know what experiences people are having with him im amazed you'll let him anywhere near your car tbh, even a broken clock is right, twice a day.
  2. you said that before piggy went for a map and look how that turned out. He's enept at best.
  3. not really sure who does esl now tbh, but stay well clear of racedungnamics what ever you do
  4. Actualy i take it back, only ever heard them called boost solenoids, not boost control solenoids, which is the actual name. I had one of these on mine, http://shop.scoobyclinic.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=265_285&product_id=666 Not had any dealings with any of the other brands to be fair.
  5. Just get a 3 port boost solenoid. There is no need for any additional boost control.
  6. Nope, one of the fastest way to blow up your engine. That's what the ecu is for. If you want to get the boost increased will need mapping.
  7. It's already gone I'm afraid chap. Will be back up for sale at some point, not sure what spec it will be in though, may get returned to stock or sold as is. I'll let you know when i hear whats what. Yeah was all sorted in the end, duff throttle position sensor and a duff ignition leed so nothing too major in the end. A couple of the small number of parts from the original engine that were still in the bay lol
  8. The bearings weren't replaced? Wouldn't be the first time RCM have done this despite being advised to. As I said above name and high price doesn't always mean you get a good job.
  9. Does look like its on stilts to me haha
  10. Cheers, couple of pics i do have.
  11. Anyone know what i'll need? From what i can tell you can get a cubby hole to fill the bottom section. Is it just as simple as putting cubby hole in then stereo and job done?
  12. so with a bit of sadness i've decided to sell on the type R, need to free up some cash so it has to go :( After a bit of discussion both the Hawk and the Type R are going and I'm replacing it with a single car. To that end gonna be buying a new car, well new to me. I learnt my lesson so don;t be daft, of course im not gonna go scoobless hahaha After a bit of discussion i ended up witha choice of 3, a modified hawk STI in WR blue, an RB320 and what was thought to be a spec D. Blue sti was nice, but wasn't that enthused by it (nice tidy car though) which is strange given the mods it had (decent suspension mods, mapped, decent brakes etc) and how tidy it was. RB320 had literally just arrived and had been in storage so was a tad rough around the edges. All that would have been sorted but I still can't get over the extra 6k price for whats some badges and bilstein shocks, yeah i know leather but not mentioning that will make sence below) Spec D, but a tad strange. It looks on the face of it to be a Spec D, leather seats, fog lights, silver wheels, front fogs etc but some differences which look very OEM rather than mods. After much deliberation i decided to go for,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Drum roll,,,,,,,,,,,,, The Spec D, and this is where it gets strange. It isn't quite right for a spec D, First thing was the spoiler, it's not a wrx spoiler which was on the spec D, its an A line spoiler (pic below is just one that shows the spoiler) The centre console is black (i thought just sprayed till i noticed the dials were black as well), then with a bit of digging realised it was an S204 centre console Additionaly the calipers were black. So these are pretty minor to be fair and things someone could have easily moded, so we guessed that was it was untill i checked the vin plate. Applied model code doesn't come back as a UK sti or a spec D, comes back as a hatch WRX, colour code is def not a spec D should be 48W but its 01G, engine code is differen't and gearbox code is different and comes back from a hatch STI. So straight away alarm bells started ringing and i wondered if it was a ringer. I decided to try the old google, with no joy, AM code didnt show up anywhere and after speaking to a few friends one managed to run the AM and thats when it came back with the hatch. Decided to post up on Type-ra to see if they could run the vin but before that low an behold some one posted up with the answer. I hadn;t put in about the black calipers and they asked if it had black calipers and if so they could tell me what it was. Sure enough proved to be correct and it's been identified as a very rare one of 25 Euro spec STI Limited's that were brought in by Cheam motors who were a subaru dealer back at the time. Most were left hand drive but 25 were right hand drive for the UK. http://www.subaru-impreza.de/Sonderserien/_Generation2/LimitedCH07/index.htm A thread did pop up on SN many years back when someone bought one, https://www.scoobynet.com/car-care-380/874113-impreza-sti-limited-pic-heavy.html Having a few suspension bits fitted including a set of the new widetrack fitment pedders and hopefully picking it up in a couple of weeks depending on how busy the workshop is and when they can fit it in. i'll get some more pics up asap.
  13. I'm guessing you didn't actually read through the thread? there's various replies on there. i especially like the guy complaining about being charged £58 too much, which had actually already been refunded when clinic had realised they had added RR time when it was a price without, he hadn't even notice the money had already gone back into his account lol. rest is pretty much all being full of praise lol At the end of the day you take your car where you want, most places do an itemised list of exactly whats been done so you can see the break down on what your paying, cheaper isn't always better just as more expensive, not too mention branding doesn't mean jack. Good example, a very well respected brand of headgaskets that were used pretty much across the board in 2.35 conversion's for many years were actually found to block half the water ways (when closed deck blocks were used) when fitted due to feed's being slightly off set. Another one, who was the first company to do rotate turbo's? RCM? nope, was latteral performance, so where did the design for the RCM kit come from? You can believe what you like, but if you'd been around as long as i have you'd understand a hell of alot more rather than just thinking things have only been happening for a couple of years. You have alot to learn and assumption is the mother of all f*ckup's ;)
  14. and where do you get this lesser job when engine tuner ring them with tech questions when they get stuck? where is it documented? im yet to see anything that when you look at whats included like for like? given each bill they do has a full break down of costs for each thing thats done you can see exactly what your getting. You continually have a pop at them everytime yet you never actually come up with anything real, several people on here including myself use them and disagree with what you say, yet you know better without even having never even been to the place and seem to have a vendetta for no reason, is it jealousy maybe? I'm not sure, but you keep showing how totally clueless you are when you make comments about lesser jobs and such, they are the go to people for other stuck tuners all over the country, but then i guess you know more than those tuners eh ;)
  15. what you do is very budget dependant. My advice would be find a tuner your happy with and get them to spec and price up a build based on needs. Engine tuner are good, scoobyclinic are good and despite what clueless kershaw says arn't mega expensive since a few folks on here use them unlike he does, neither are that close though unfortunately.
  16. Welcome, as stants says, don't bother. If you want mroe performance save the money you would spend on mods and buy a wrx or sti
  17. good choice, sound chap is alyn
  18. Price depends on what spec you go for. Best advice if your aiming for a target find a tuner your happy with, speak to them about options and targets and go with that. Wrong spec and mismatching parts could mean a total dog of a car. I would stay clear of rcm parts, expensive for what they are and not always as good as you think.
  19. My advice, do the pistons. There well known to be a failure point (ring lands) and you don't want to rebuild it to then have to rebuild it again replacing everything again.
  20. with photobucket nope, you can go in and download them all though. Tis a tad of a ball ache if you have used it for a while because you have to do it folder by folder. short version, pay or go to another site.
  21. sorry by stopper i thought you meant the ones they sell under the name of gobstopper
  22. where ya been hiding dude? yeah when it works its great
