I managed to hack my top hose apart and shove the sender in with minimal loss but it wasn't the neatest just topped up and burped the hoses all was well,

Every car makes different power, some take to a map better so you may make more or less, but you will get better torque mpg & an increase in hp regardless of final figure, As for the piston issues I believe it was Ringland failure due to running lean ? But there was a recall to address this, but always worth getting it on a dyno for a power run to make sure it's all ok

Should I buy?
At the end of the Day it's a fsh and documented mileage so I couldn't see ut being a problem, the dealer seems fairly honest are they including any form of limited warranty ? 112k is nothing many of us are way past that in cars that are twice the age and still going strong

boost problems
Just get it mapped to come in earlier [emoji12] Mine wheezes like an asthmatic donkey past 5k so no point going any further, almost like I'm driving a diesel [emoji23]

Holy MPG Batman!!
You've at least 20 more before you run out, I reckon you should get a jerry can with 5l and play light roulette, Mine comes on when it feels like, managed 100 miles once with it on, (it came on when needle was half way between 1/4 /empty) Made a change as the 1st year I had her it never came on

boost problems
What where your mapping goals ? How much did the mapper wind the boost up to &do you have a two or three port soliniod Sounds like overboost as opposed to cut, I'd start by checking wasetgate, boost solinoid & hoses all could be a culprit,

Should I buy?

Hello & welcome, The subaru will be a massive step down in refinement and luxury, although the leather will go some way to cushioning the blow, with that mileage I wouldn't be worried especially with fsh, I'd check when the glow plugs where done and the dpf filter if applicable as the early diesels had some issues with these, but should have been rectified by now, What made you look at changing ? The foz is a very capable and robust , won't get stuck anywhere and even on summer tyres gets me out of muddy fields & snowy conditions with no problems. Just have to ask yourself if it's what you want compared to the lexus,

I would assume it's all you'd need to unbolt the old unit and stick new one on
