  1. Just been through the DVLA site reading all their number plate info - it mentions colour, letter spacing reflective material and mounting front and rear but not found anything to say sticking it on bonnet is illegal. They do bang on about a BS plate so if the material used to stick on was not of the same level to get BS compliance (or not having BS standard a manufacturer and a postcode on bottom right corner) they may have something to say. Couldn't find anywhere stating vertical mount, the original document with this reference has now been replaced by another leaflet. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/533255/inf104-vehicle-registration-numbers-and-number-plates.pdf I have been on MOT sites and these state sizing colour and ability to clearly read plate eg no discolouration, cracks etc The only thing I have found is back in the original 2001 guff which states must be mounted on the front vertically or as close to vertical where practicably possible but ensure that all letters numbers can be read. (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/561/pdfs/uksi_20010561_en.pdf para 6) I can see why they would not be pulled up if you had a reflective white sticker with appropriately spaced BS fonted digits etc, I think one site mentioned a fixed penalty of £35 (more for number plates with dodgy fonts made to look like words etc). Way I would look at it is if you were pulled for something dodgy it is something else they could throw at you, but if this was the sole reason I would question the officers right to be drawing oxygen at that point
  2. done a bit of reading and it is as Stants says but the enforcement seems to be varied as they need to be mounted vertically
  3. Were your discs drilled, grooved or drilled and grooved as apparently having drilled only discs causes the hills and uneven wear?
  4. Someone on the forum recently purchased this brand, cannot remember who or what type but something to consider? http://www.yellow-speed.com/dynamic-pro-sport.php
  5. I prefer the on bonnet location - ever since the E Type jag carried it really, smooths the front end instead of the crappy bit of plastic you have to mount. The only reason they are on the front now is speed traps as bikes havent had / needed them for years
  6. Just tried it from my desktop - still inverts - will ping the site admin
  7. seem to be some issues with posting photos from phones???
  8. just looking awesome - loving the welds - far superior to my pigeon poo results
  9. Some great roads between the NE and Edinburgh and then they get even better further North you go
  10. A little dustier than I remember post initial clean - a bit niggled at the amount of corrosion on the brackets not sure what the previous owners were doing, driving through rivers I think. Interesting looking at the different shaped manifolds across the ranges, the NA ones look like larger diameter tubes When I took ownership Today
  11. What do you plan on doing with the wastegate outlets, VTA in the engine bay, additional piping?
  12. Yes the ECUTek will use your existing ECU, there are other options, you can remap your existing ECU, replace the ECU as a whole (Syvecs etc) or add modules which will enable tweaking - Cobb etc - I would have the remap done first though. I would always go with whom you are confident will do a good job on your motor. Andy F - wealth of knowledge and great at what he does but as a consequence in demand - veeeerrrrry busy man so some patience may be required
  13. anyone that does not need oil, cosworth, pipercross etc
  14. Dont what is sadder - this actually made me chuckle

  16. hmmm you sure that is not a chap taking a tree to the local tip Subaru style
  17. glad to hear they walked away!
  18. £400 for a license (or not see Matt and HLimes comments) that will support any mapping requirements in the future (just labour costs down the line), correct fuelling for your motor setup taking advantage of the existing mods, tuned for the higher RON fuel so potential for improved fuel economy and driveability, peace of mind as they should check for any fault codes. If you have the electronic / fly by wire throttle you can also option launch control with closed loop boost (gives a fixed constant boost during launch) flat foot shifting (very useful on the school or big shop run) downshift auto blipping, flexible fuel useage so allows you to run higher levels of ethanol (with the mods you have this could result in 400bhp), boost per gear settings allowing variable levels of boost dependant on gear and revs and some BHP and torque increases. 1bar does point toward standard map My hatch STI EJ25 with the dealer PPP mod put out about 330BHP but I know some tuners have taken the standard STI with circa 300BHP to 340BHP
