  1. So found out my cars finished :D Question is what power did it make? should start a pole lol
  2. Get it quoted before work starts, i suspect the bill might be more than its worth doing :(
  3. oops yeah, hang on i'll change it
  4. As said before, get it to a decent specialist and get them to give it a full once over. Sounds like might have an electrical grmlin as well so they can have a quick nose around see if theres anything obvious with it
  5. Running in seems to be a debated subject, not sure why considering pretty much all the big tuners i know of do the following, 500 miles on crappy mineral oil, actuator disconnected and so only wastegate pressure Oil and filter change to semi synthetic and additional 500 miles, still with actuator disconnected Once at 1000 miles, oil and filter change to fully synthetic, reconnect the actuator and full map to suit.
  6. Well stop playing around and get him to join, !Removed! amature,,,,, hahaha only joking :) but yeah get him to join
  7. Haha, because of what you need to do mapping it on the road isnt always the safest. Also your own insurance wont cover you for it. if you get pulled you'll be done for driving without insurance plus what ever else they pulled you for.
  8. Usued em for donkeys years for everything from servicing, to bodywork, tuning, engine and gearbox rebuilds. Due to pick my type R up again on sat. Need to update it with the results, but up to date untill last week. Always welcome to come along for a nosey and a coffee on sat if you want. No obligation to buy anything :)
  9. the colour, none uk colour, will be a parallel import from malta/cyprus. motorpoint would have been the original supplier in the UK. Difference between UK and euro spec is little, mainly the alarm and a few additional colour choices. I had a hawk the same colour. you can usualy tell from the fob/key as well.
  10. Depends how far your willing to travel. I use scoobyclinic up at chesterfield.
  11. Dyno map then finish on road is best. Dyno is more precises than road and also safer, however map does need checking on the road after.
  12. make sure you get a boost and afr print out, thats the important bit
  13. Good luck, you have been warned.
  14. Open source is an option, but anyone can just download the map and just map away. Andy Forrest is who you want to be using up your way
  15. Noooo,,,,, Stay well clear. at £240 it will only be a flash map. you don't want to be doing that to a scoob. i would expect a map to be minimum £350 + vat and thats based on no charge for dyno and not having to buy a license.
  16. as said 260 is about average result, beware of people telling you they can get X amount of power. you want it mapped to its safe potential, not mapped to its death. What system are they using to map it? and if you dont mind saying how much they charging?
  17. welcome. Are you aware its an import?
  18. Need to find out whats up, was doing funny things on the dyno.
  19. So slight hicup, problem with the rear diff when it was loaded onto the dyno for mapping. Good bit of news was it flew through its MOT.
  20. Stay well clear, typical cheap turbo.
  21. Hawk wrx box is alot more capable that early 5 speeds, i ran one at 390/420 for 18 months/14k miles and know a couple running above 450 without issue.
