  1. As part of it is lit and the gauge still functions I would say your rear wiring connectors are fine. It would point to a break where the led mounts the PCB (as it is intermittent) or worse a component that supplies the voltage to the LED is on the way out. As these will all be surface mount components it is not impossible to repair but a large magnifying glass and steady hands is a must have
  2. looking good - that bumper protector is a nice idea as we have the plastic sill protector you have on the impreza but that doesn't stop the mad scramble from a mis timed jump
  3. some have come up on the book of faces recently but not sure they are what you are looking for - could you post a picture then I can keep an eye out
  4. Wotcha and welcome - liking the profile of the bonnet, feel free to start a project thread and keep us updated as to your progress
  5. the majority of blocks that come as standard are not good for big HP builds - The exception that is the early closed deck blocks (CDB). You will need to decide which route to go as the internals will vary accordingly. The pretty much undisputed best build solution for these motors is the 2.0 cdb block with a 2.35 stroker kit. However doing a cdb conversion on your block then using standard sized forged pistons (look at Mahle 2618 race pistons) with arrow rods and associated uprated bearings (Cosworth, King, Mahle) will get you to a 550 capable build. You will also need uprated bolts - ARP is the norm and uprated head gaskets, RCM ones do not need reaming if you are going for a 14 / 14 size thread conversion. Heads. Your standard heads will be fine from a sizing perspective however your will need to look at changing the springs & retainers - look at supertech or RCM. Talk to these guys - in your part of the world and can sort your cdb conversion plus build parts http://asperformance.com
  6. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to share photos etc all friendly on here
  7. Wotcha and welcome !!
  8. cut another hole in my bonnet - change of direction with catches.
  9. As above sounds like an earth issue Also check the main loom connection is seated correctly
  10. you will need to trim some off the tie rod ends as you are in a narrow body compared to the sti
  11. agree - I use independent who is very familiar with scoobs or do it myself
  12. never had that - to loose all steering leads me to believe your rack has broken some how, if the pump had gone the steering would be heavy but still there, some teeth missing somewhere and knowing how robust the rack is I would suggest pinion has failed silver lining - upgrade to 15+ rack for faster steering ratio
  13. Yes the pMaxKote, was doing a comparison between the Mahle option and King, like the idea of the coating and the increased oil way. looking forward to seeing how that new turbo performs
  14. That is a clean motor - good luck with the sale
  15. Mot

    fingers crossed then
  16. Wotcha and welcome - I don't know the answer but do know with the use of a very cheap resistor you can leave the wheel airbag unplugged if it does cause an isse
  17. Did you have a figure in mind or just looking for some one to take on a project?
  18. Wotcha and welcome - keep a camera handy and feel free to start a build thread
  19. Did you go for the new coated King bearings?
  20. Wotcha and welcome. Could be your top mount broken, tyres worn, bent arms (although they should have picked that up when tracking)
  21. You may find this useful as well https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
  22. Just seen a post on the book of faces about a tuning company in the US (Boosted Performance Tuning) that has managed to get 500whp (At the wheels) on a 2019 sti with stock internals. The turbo was replaced along with supporting mods there but the tune has x3 key factors: 1. The 2019 sti comes with 'stronger pistons' 2. Running E85 mix 3. The tune has been done sensibly with very little torque generated low down in the rev range so the stock internals are not over stressed, higher up the range full power is dialled in.
  23. most probably et55 https://www.wheel-size.com/size/subaru/impreza/2001/
  24. yes also cannot remember did you flush the brake fluid with DOT 5.1
  25. Ok - so it looks like 400bhp without a rebuild will be high risk and probably short lived
