Buying advice 04 Forester XT
It's essentially the same as an impreza of the same year so any guides will cross over, I wouldn't worry too much about the towing, it's normally the auto's that end up with problems increased wear on the box etc. The coil overs will make the car sit alot lower than stock suspension and will give a harsher ride, (depends what your used to) So may be worth considering if you do loads of miles or need the clearence, The mot fail items are fairly usual subaru used rubbish plastic droplinks so they wear quite frequently, Cv boots split over time and again are cheap to put right. Mechanically, bottom end knocking is very bad news, make sure you hear it from cold and check all the usual bits you would on a 'normal' car. The radiators tend to go quite frequently again due to rubbish construction, so the ally one may have been put in place as an upgrade. Is it a 2.5l car ? The heads gaskets are a known weak point too so ask if there's any history of overheating or the heads being done, Where is the car located ?

Impreza wrx rad fans wont cut out ???
No bit if he'd taken the rad out he'd have unclipped the harness for both fans

What to do ?
I know plus savage had one up for sale not long ago. I'm Not wanting to change and to be honest I don't have the funds to change at the mo, trying to sort out a mortgage amongst other things, She wants to look at something new on hp which probably wouldn't work for the size of car we need, and I doubt the monthly payments on a new sti would be within my price range at the mo.

Depends what you want from the motor, api are well recomended with a fairly quick turn around of a month

What to do while the engine is out?
Gutted mate, clutch as you say saves doing it later on, apart from that maybe change the ancillary hoses that aren't attached to the block for silicone ones, clean the bay it's self ? Who's doing the rebuild for you ?

Hello & welcome, You'll have to go as a normal paying punter as the club stands had all been booked up so we couldn't get on as a club. Best off googling to see how much general admission is as we had discounted rates if we got a stand
-
What to do ?
Some I'm seeing are around the same mileage to mine and have rebuilds already ? Hmm I think not if it's gone and been rebuilt I dread to think what else may be about to die. What's the deal with the 2.5's you always hear horror stories but I don't know of anyone personally that's killed theirs. May have a walk round the garage later see what the deal is with the spec d

What to do ?
That price isn't even for a forged lump ! [emoji33] if she drove and we had a 2nd car i'd probably end up starting a little project and strip & rebuild myself but ts not an option. Yeah I'm having a forray into the trader now.
