  1. In theory as long as you have one with a matching thread any decent (eg bosch) wideband sensor would work. Just check the signal voltage once you have replaced it other wise you will generate an error - some may require a calibration. Although a UK site - this is quite cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-SUBARU-IMPREZA-1-5-2009-4-WIRE-FRONT-LAMBDA-OXYGEN-SENSOR-DIRECT-FIT-/121867934201?hash=item1c5fe519f9:g:dAwAAOSwCypWm7Wx

Blue blob Reg plate reads as SCOOBY C - Kingswinford KFC
  3. very nice - if only the bank balance would cover it
  4. Just found the Mishimoto version http://www.mishimoto.co.uk/heavy-duty-transmission-cooler-kit-electric-fan.html
  5. Liking this Hayden product actually... http://www.haydenauto.com/Featured Products-The Dawg/Content.aspx
  6. The Mishimoto one has a slightly bigger overall area but the specs of the hayden look good http://www.haydenauto.com/Featured Products-Patented By Pass Cooler/Content.aspx Why not install a gauge - that way you can keep an eye on the temp see what it currently runs at then when you make the changes you can ensure it stays within the 175F - 195F (70C-90C) range
  7. Andy Forrest you may have to wait to get some time with him as he tends to be very busy.
  8. Sounds like a keeper Agree with the 2.5 approach having low down grunt and as you are an engineer pinning the standard block to stop any potential sleeve movement would be a straight forward improvement
  9. Ahh I see - bar and fin will use less oil in the total system and is a lower risk of puncture by stones etc but surface area ratio to fluid is lower so cooling effect might mean you need to go for a bigger bar fin version to get the same effect.
  10. If you don't have a modine fitted and lines already to the front of the car just fit an oil cooler - have it in front of the radiator if you like that way it gets the air flow before it hits the radiator That doesnt look like a mishimoto product - do you have a link to the site? Is that the transmission cooler you are looking at - if so what are the dimensions? I would expect something like this http://www.mishimoto.co.uk/subaru-forester-xt-turbo-manual-04-08.html or http://www.mishimoto.co.uk/mishimoto-universal-transmission-fluid-cooler-20-75.html or this could be really effective? http://www.mishimoto.co.uk/bmw-e46-m3-oil-cooler-kit-01-06.html
  11. the boost control may cause an error but that would cause CEL or limp mode not lower the rev limit
  12. well I now feel getting out of bed this morning was not a mistake
  13. ok so that was pants - the images were removed!! Links added instead
  14. This is the modine - apparently used on an auto Fozzie - this uses the engine coolant which will go through your proposed Mishimoto unit. It has an oil feed from / to your auto box and in / out flow for coolant linked in with your engine coolant flow - Do you have something different fitted to your Fozzie? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Subaru-WRX-05-07-Forester-XT-02-07-engine-oil-cooler-modine-EJ255-OEM-/262303904488?fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru&hash=item3d1287f2e8:g:nm0AAOSwWTRWzF2M This is one similiar to my auto Impreza http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Subaru-Impreza-Legacy-Modine-GC8-Oil-Cooler-V1-To-V6-EJ20-EJ25-Early-/272507298369?hash=item3f72b36241:g:IpcAAOSw65FXqv9- again it uses engine coolant to take heat from the transmission oil. Can you post a picture of your oil cooler 'in' your radiator so I can get a view on size comparision You could fit a separate oil cooler somewhere on the front of your motor like this (although this is designed to be connected to the engine OIL filter you could adapt it to your auto trans box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-TURBO-MOCAL-OIL-COOLER-KIT-STAINLESS-BRAIDED-HOSE-80-DEG-STAT-/351707294852?hash=item51e3636c84:g:964AAOxyOlhS2T76 One of the guys did a really looking factory job of welding in some mounts to the front of his Impreza and removed the fog light to flow air into it. This brand does a variety of auto trans coolers (Nissens) which you could mount in the same way as the larger mocal option http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissens-Oil-Cooler-Auto-Trans-90653-/191992938662?hash=item2cb3abc0a6:g:ZqgAAOSwux5YLdfS Given your location consider more frequent trans oil changes - average is every 50K with less miles specified for towing / extreme climate conditions, also go for a higher quality oil than standard. If your 08 model is still on the original oil it would be a good idea to at least give it a flush (not just drain as you wont get all the old stuff out) with new stuff - expensive but worth it.
  15. close run thing though - certainly wasn't a land slide
  16. Wotcha and welcome here is a buyers info thread - if you have any photos / details of the car (chassis code etc) you are looking at we may be able to help
  17. doesnt sound like the top mount bearings then - but yes a crack in the rubber - excessive lateral movement of the strut - had one a few years back caused toe out of front alignment went through a brand new pirelli to the canvas in 400 miles
  18. If you have a multi meter start swinging through and check for continuity of the leads as all the fuses are fine - not sure from your write up (its been a long week) but is there power coming out of the box when activated to trigger the door motors?
  19. I could live with the colour - splitter is awesome :)
  20. teh price seems to vary - seen a couple fo really nice fozzies go recently for very low prices - once you are happy put a thread up in the for sale section - with photos
  21. The oil temp (as well as your location) will vary with how you drive your motor - If it was me I would mount an aftermarket oil cooler either in front of the radiator or lower down - say in the intake hole (bumper) in front of the air intake. My Auto trans cooler is done via a modine / heat exchange between coolant and oil so does not go near the radiator itself. Fitting one of those in line with your uprated mishimoto rad might be worth investigating??
  22. Have run Toyo T1R's before - never needed a bed in period they were spot on as soon as the shine came off - 100 meters up road - dont think it is the tyres. Check your bearing mounts on suspnsion tops - one may be cracked?
