Loads of little things to do, just need to put some time aside to do them (JDM hazard might, route Mic properly for phone, etc.) but for sure need to.
Phillip1993 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Well bottom end just gone time to take the engine out again!!!! Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk Out again? Did the head gaskets about a month ago Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk
aucky Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Drove 250mile to brighton.well happy with car it never missed a beat.got to do it all again later to go home. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Sirspidey Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Gave mine a fully set of disc and pads all round. [emoji1]
stuartie Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Took the old gc8 for mot and passed with flying colours , i did have to overhaul the front 4pots on monday though as the pistons were seized, probably a side effect of being parked up for the winter but hey ho alls well that end well 2
Jamie_uk Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Removed and cleaned throttle body. No hesitation at any revs and no struggle after changing up. Acceleration improved aswell. Though I was met by a lovely little oil puddle in the top of the manifold. Time to sort out a half decent catch can can't find much online so will probably just make one :D love a tinker
Seminole81 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Have to tried looking at the Cusco catch can?
Jamie_uk Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 yeah i have a cheap version to check out but need a can with 3 in 3 out. otherwise ill need 3 seperate cans which seemed a bit mad unless thats what people usually do?
Jamie_uk Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 catches the oil out of the breather hoses instead of sending it back through the air intake i believe. not sure if theres more to it than that i just want the oil out. 1
aucky Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Made it back home from brighton with out any problem, apart from traffic problems.500mile car done me good.bigtest tommorow, mot time [emoji53] Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
stuartie Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I've also been looking at catch cans and from what i've read they take out all of the oil vapour from the likes of the breather pipes like you said and oil blow by, which is the oil passing the seals on the turbo when running higher boost the oil vapour then gets recirculated back through the inlet and messes about with the octane rating of the fuel and can cause detonation, @aucky don't worry mate i'm sure the motor will pass no probs especially if my old v1 wrx can pass with no advisorys 1
stants Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 The propper way to go would be two cans, one for pcv/tb and the other for the heads most people just use one and tee into the other lines Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk 2
savage bulldogs Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I was advised to "t" the 2 cam breathers together to equal the pressure between the "banks" . Dunno if there's any truth in it tbh ,especially as the oe oil breather pipework "t" 's crank and right hand head breather together anyways . Either way if you do track days ,running higher hp or just like squeezing the throttle on the exit to corners I think it's a worth while mod to lessen the chance of det . As for me n my old shed spec scooby today I be mostly embarrassing a nearly new 1 series m35i on a slip lane .
neil97rs Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Had sports cat fitted and a remap Nice 320/320 so pleased with that Now got an ecutek licensed ecu to sell as went Mafless

aucky Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Pick car up from sss after its yearly check up.mot passed flying colours for another year.[emoji3] Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk 1
scoobygirl Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Bought some clear side repeaters and indicator lenses. Then popped out for a little drive to a local car paint shop to get bits to de-orange the car, spruce up the alloys and clean the engine bay and pipes 1
scoobygirl Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 They were brilliant. Had everything I need and we're very helpful. Got a cuppa out of them to. I did get some shocked looks by the men shopping in there when I tottered in in my high heels. It was almost a ooooo a woman in a man's shop look. The bloke behind the counter knew me and chuckled. 2
